Of a two week trip to Italy, this was my favorite experience. To walk where Francesco Giovanni Bernadone walked was uplifting. The cathedral is beautiful, the museum moving, and the crypt was existential. There is even a smell which is moving!

This was one of the main focal points of a Franciscan pilgrimage based in the Rieti Valley. We made a day trip to Assisi, and this Basilica was the main focus on arrival. Sadly some of us were not up to the hill climb, but...More

The tomb of St. Francis was a spiritual experience. Enjoyed roaming the streets & shops. Also, learning about St. Claire & her role and contributions.

The town of Assisi on top of the hill is the most beautiful city on my tour & the view is awesome. I really liked everything about Assisi & the church is gorgeous with the burial place of St. Francis.
