Impressive church in terms of it's size and architecture. Do not miss the church "down stairs" which is the more less equivalent to the top level.

A beautiful and deeply spiritual Basilica. The frescoes by Giotto are gorgeous. The visit to the crypt, where St Francis' remains are, felt very profound despite me and my husband not being practising Catholics. St Francis was a special figure, an environmentalist and peace maker...More

This Basilica is amazing, perched up on top of the hill overlooking Assisi! The artwork inside is simply amazing, however you are not suppose to take photos! Its a must see

Breathtaking views, majestic Basilica. Definitely worth a visit when in Assisi. The garden is particularly beautiful.

Came here because the basilica is a UNESCO WHS. It was a nice visit, the basilica has gorgeous frescoes. The only drawback is the fact you can't take pictures inside.

It is the most popular place in Assisi. Located at the top of the town, so it is better to start the tour from that place.

On our way from La Marche to Florence we stopped at Assisi to see the Basilica and I'm so glad we did. It was quite simply absolutely stunning, we could've looked at the frescos all day - so, so beautiful. Make sure you go early...More
