Walking into B.A.T. Assisi one is struck by the gallery-like quality of this lovely shop. Everywhere you look, there is a feast for the eyes. Whether religious articles or simply a remembrance of your stay in Assisi, there is always a unique treasure to be found. Pietro is the charming and most helpful owner of B.A.T. Assisi and his knowledge and creativity will have you going back for a return visit. This is the perfect boutique for that unusual gift of art...a bit of magic from a magical place...

When I first arrived in Assisi for a 3 month visit, Pietro was the first shop I was attracted to, to go into. Not only was I warmly welcomed, but I had several problems with the Italian internet and my iPhone. Pietro graciously went out of his way and called TIM-- spent a lot of time trying to get things straightened out on my behalf. He had no expectations of me buying from him, just a delightful human being that knows several languages and was happy to assist. I ended up over the course of the 3 months buying many beautiufl pieces from him. I alway knew I could trust him, that he was authentic and honest. I purched original art pieces as well as beauful placks of many sizes and designs. The ones that were gifts are still cherished--and the ones I kept for myself energeticly lift the vibration of the rooms they are in. Pietro is a wealth of information, has connections all over Italy, and is a man of integraty!

Just a few steps away from the Piazza del Commune, B.A.T. Assisi is the ideal place to find that perfect gift for yourself or another. In this shop, which gives the appearance of an upscale gallery, you are sure to find just the right something, whether you wish to spend a lot.....or just a little. There are beautiful items small enough to fit into your carry-on, and others which can be easily shipped. Pietro is the perfect host; ever welcoming his guests to his wonderland of treasures. A "must see" in Assisi!

I came upon B.A.T. by accident and was greeted by the charming Pietro.
It was so easy to find Christmas and Birthday Presents for friends.
The only problem is do I keep the gifts for myself now I'm back home?

Visiting Assisi in itself is a treasure and to have an authentic keepsake or piece of art from Assisi is one way to keep the memory alive.
As my wife and took our last steps through the streets of Assisi in October 2016, we passed several interesting shops but did not have the time to stop as our transportation was waiting. One of those shops was B.A.T. Assisi.
However, it was possible for us to "return" thanks to technology. The results were the purchase a few treasures that will last a lifetime and an acquaintance that we hope to have the opportunity to develop in the future via another visit to Assisi.
We were told about B.A.T. Assisi by friend who recently returned from Assisi and showed us a small "fresco", one of so many found on the walls of church's in Assisi.
If only we would have stopped in this shop while in Assisi......If only we could return to visit this shop in person.......
Well, I did......virtually......and shopped and "talked" with the owner Pietro over several weeks.
Together, between conversations online, visits to his virtual shop and specific images taken and sent by Pietro of items currently in his shop, I was able to purchase several items including; unique to Assisi jewelry for my wife in celebration of our upcoming 40th wedding anniversary, 3 beautiful reproduction frescoes from the interior walls of the Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi and a stunning Pannello ceramics Crocifissione, which accurately depicts Giotto de Bondone's original fresco.
From receiving personally taken images of his shop, some items in the store before purchase and others as they were prepared for shipping, our "conversations" left me with the feeling of being able to visit B.A.T Assisi in person.
If you're planning a trip to Assisi in the future, this is a must stop during your visit. You can purchase items small enough to take home in your carry on or have them carefully prepared for shipping to your home.
Thank you, Pietro. I appreciate your patience and making my shopping experience as personal as if I was standing in your shop.

We were with a group and passed this store when something caught my eye. Later that day I had my husband go back with me. Didn't realize it was an art store. Was worried I wouldn't be able to afford what I was looking for. Not the case. This store has beautiful items specific to the area. I purchased several items and yes you can dicker a little. Don't miss this gem.

Pietro gave me great service when I was there and purchased a relief ceramic of St. Francis of Assisi. He packaged and shipped it very carefully back to the US as a present to a Franciscan Friar friend of mine. It arrived quickly and intact and is cherished by Fr. Jerome.
