Wonderful

Stunning views from the top. Beautiful wild flowers. Driving up to the top was one of the best things we did in our week in Assisi.

BEAUTIFUL PARK
Mar 2019 • Couples
This large public park which includes Bosco di San Francesco, Eremo delle Carceri, San Damiano and other Franciscan sites also has roads, trails and paths that allow you to walk, hike, bike, horseback ride and even paraglide. It is a relaxing way to spend some time away from the crowds that frequent Assisi.

No time for hiking? This is the right place for you!
May 2017
The view from the top is breathtaking. On one side, you see Asissi and Monte Amiata, on the other Monti Siblini and gran Sasso. Add to that the horses grazing freely around, the place is a heaven. And the best of it all, it is free and accessible by car! You can literally drive through the top of the mountain to the other side to Spello, making it ideal for foreigners that do not have the time to hike. Wonderful place.

Beautiful, but hard walking!
Oct 2017 • Couples
Mount Subasio park is well worth visiting to get an experience of the natural world around Assisi and the small towns and villages that are within the park. There's history and ancient hill villages, chasms, thick forests and dry scrubland.
There are some excellent b and b's, agriturismo and hotels that can make a stay in the park a great pleasure. If you are planning to visit do get hold of a good map - there are many national paths in the park. The terrain can be tough- steep, rocky and treacherous and there is the slim possibility of encountering scorpions or snakes. You'll need good boots, I've just returned from a walking holiday in the park and never wore my walking sandals. Do take a good hat- perhaps not so necessary in the later autumn, but during our visit the sun was still strong! And make sure you have plenty of water. You can take water from fountains, but there really aren't many shops outside of the towns.

The Italian countryside
Sep 2017 • Couples
The Sweeping Italian countryside is lush and green. We enjoyed driving through the beautiful area and seeing the fields and the Italian people who call Umbria their home.

Amazing!

Wonderful place. Completely immersed in greenery and uncontaminated nature. However, there is a need to be very careful about signposting during the journey, the risk of getting lost is very high. Very suggestive and suitable for those who love long walks in the middle of nature.

Lovely arena to observe and dream
May 2017 • Couples
From our small seater plane the outline is rounded, rising isolated between the triangle of Spello, Assisi and Nocera Umbra, its beauty spreading to the spectacular high Appenines. It's no wonder the park was regarded sacred considering it s mystical and magical surroundings. On the ground, the summit of Subasio is easily traversed retracing an ancient cart trail. It's motto scenic leading almost to the peak, with olive trees in every direction and woodland while above the distinctive hover of buzzards and goshawks. Our next stop is the grand dame herself Assisi

nature and people
Jun 2015 • Couples
We drove through small and ancient villages (like Collepino), through a great views, colorful fields, and habitants who live peacefully with the surroundings.
Curved and winding roads, some through the woods, some overlooking distant castles on the hills, some go near unseco sites, some pass by places you must stop and have a good coffee.
A great way to spend few hours, out of the hot cities.
