We were touring the Basilica and came across this museum. More lighting is needed on the descriptions. Well worth the time

Excellent collection with beautiful icon art, plus other items donated by the Pope. If you're lucky enough to have the American lay brother on the desk, ask him about the huge tapestry as you come in the door. Thoroughly interesting story and he has many other stories that flesh out the collection.

A lovely introduction to Italian church art with the odd modern eyepleaser. Well worth the extra time when visiting the pure Frans of Assisi sights.
