This is a very atmospheric place to enjoy and explore not only the wines of Tuscany but of all of Italy - choosing from their well stocked wine cellar. There is also a didactic exhibition in the basement with wines from all over the country arranged according to regions to allow visitors to learn about the major producers, geography, grape... More

While we didn't eat here, we had a private wine tasting "journey" with Ana. Very last minute - arranged by our hotel when the Tuscan Wine School wasn't available. We had a wonderful time trying 5 wines, learning about Tuscan wines - history, current state, etc. The Enoteca itself is beautiful. While there are outside seating areas, much of it... More

Little bit expensive but made up for by the good service by the nice Japanese Waitress. Nice charcuterie plate offer at decent price. I would go again in a nice afternoon for a few hours... More

We went here mid-afternoon for a glass of wine and to check it out. We were pretty much the only ones in here and it was hard to find. It's at the bottom of the fort around back. We had a glass of wine and they brought us some yummy bruschetta

The Medici Fortress is largely an open-air gym, which I'm not sure the Medicis would have approved of. Deep in the bowels is your chance to try any Italian wine in existence for €6-10 a glass. I could have spent a lot here had we had the time; my wife tried a sweet Negroamaro; who knew?

Great location in the city fortress. Display caves are extensive and showcase all of the Italian wines produced in every region, but a lack of information, staffing, and knowledge leave much to be desired. Tasting menu was limited to open bottles, about ten on the day we visited and not their entire cellar. Three tastings were ten dollars and after... More

The four of us visited during a rainstorm, and were happy to find this impressive enoteca within an imposing fortress. We sat down and waited to be invited for a wine-tasting, as stated in all the publicity. A waiter wandered over, apparently surprised to have customers (there was one other couple, they were at the bar). We expressed interest in... More

An evening trip to Siena and we were taken to Enoteca Italiana for some wine tasting and light dinner. The exhibition in the basement with the Mille Vine (1000 wines) is so impressive!

Five years ago, in 2011, we visited the Enoteca Italiana and were extremely impressed by the collection of the wines in the exhibition and the way of presenting the collection. That were the reason for us going back today on our holiday in Tuscany. We were however extremely disappointed. The exhibition had not been maintained and it seemed that no... More
