I am a qualified private tour guide for Tuscany, official cheese taster and wine expert. I have been taking clients from all over the world around Siena and the surrounding areas of Tuscany including San Gimignano, Pienza, Montalcino, Montepulciano and Cortona since 2006. I conduct different types of tours including art tours, wine tours in the Brunello di Montalcino, Chianti and Vino Nobile wine districts: artisans tours, garden tours as well as private wine, olive oil and cheese tastings. I have access to many famous and boutique wineries throughout the region and I thoroughly enjoy the pleasure my guests have in learning about and tasting wines and cheeses. I customize my tours and offers arranging special events (Palio tickets, private luncheons and visits, cooking classes) for different type of clients (individuals, groups, family reunions, families with kids, honeymooners, seniors etc).

3rd time and always a great experience

I have traveled to Italy three times over the past few years and have been fortunate to have Antonella be a part of each trip. I did her Siena tour twice and despite it covering the same location, she made each a very unique and memorable experience. On my most recent trip to Tuscany, I was very excited to have Antonella tour 5 of my best friends. We had an amazing time, not just because of the wine, but because of Antonella. We were traveling from Cinque Terre, so she arranged for us to have a private driver pick us up from our AirBnB and bring us to Montalcino AirBnB where she met us to begin our tour of two Brunello wineries. On all her tours, it is obvious that she is very well respected by all the business owners she works with for her tours. She incorporates both historical and modern perspectives into her tour discussions and she does so with humor, charm, and whit. The tours are all very relaxed and she does an excellent job of shaping them to meet your needs/wants. She is invaluable in assisting with travel, lodging, and restaurant bookings when needed. If you want an intimate, personal, and fun experience, I could not recommend anyone more.

Exceptional!

My two daughters (9 and 11) and I went on a private tour of Siena with Antonella. I can not say enough to describe how amazing the experience was. We would never have fully appreciated Siena without Antonella (in fact it was my second visit and I was completely oblivious to the rich heritage and tradition this beautiful city had to offer). Antonella took us on a journey through the 17 rivaling districts weaving stories around the Palio race and the remarkable nature of this completion between the districts. She showed us not only the famous sites but also some hidden gems. She kept my two daughters interested the whole time and was able to answer every single question they asked (there were a lot!!).

I have been on many many tours in different cities around the world and this was by far the best! If you are still hesitating, then stop and book Antonella!

Fantastic Tour Guide for Siena!

We reached out to Antonella on short notice for a private tour and luckily she had an opening for a half day for us while we were in Siena. We had already walked much of the city so when we met we were able to tell her what we had seen and what we were interested in learning about. Antonella was fantastic and so personable! She took us all over Siena and we made impromptu adjustments along the way based on her knowledge of the city and what we happened upon during our walk. She was able to give us a perspective on Italian life that we didn't get anywhere else during our 3 weeks in Italy. Her tour was the best we had in all of Italy. Antonella's English is perfect which we appreciated since one of us has partial hearing loss which makes any tour more difficult. We can't recommend Antonella enough if you want a great in depth perspective on Siena!

An Amazing Day in Montalcino

We only had one day in Tuscany, but Antonella helped us make the most of it! She hand picked the vineyards that we went to so that we get a different sense of difference productions of wines in the Montalcino region. She arranged lunch for us in a local restaurant so that we could get a more authentic Italian dinning experience. Antonella’s wit, charm and knowledge of the region truly elevated the whole experience and helped make it an unforgettable one! I cannot thank Antonella enough for the incredible day and strongly recommend her as a tour guide for anyone traveling in the region.

Antonella Piredda is the quintessential tour guide…and so much more! From our first contact online — she came highly recommended by the owners of La Foce in Tuscany — she was professional, responsive, well-informed, skilled, and fun to be with. She is solution-oriented and treated every request or snag with thoughtful suggestions. She thought through the size and needs of our group, designed a week’s worth of delightful, personalized visits and tours to complement our free time. Always ready with recommendations, whether about specific places or the overall smoothness of the itinerary, we were thoroughly pleased with her work and give her a wholehearted, 5 + Star rating!!!

Excellent Experience for the Whole Family

We just returned from eight days in Italy and our half-day with Antonella was a top highlight for the whole family. I had arranged a truffle hunt and olive oil tasting with Antonella, but she ended up also planning a lunch for us (even arranging for a specific menu, our favorite during the trip) and giving us tips for the rest of our time in Tuscany. She has a great personality and put everyone at ease immediately. She is extremely knowledgeable and had a way of sharing information that engaged even my two teenage boys. It is clear Antonella is enjoyed by the people she works with as well. Having a personalized tour from a knowledgeable and charismatic guide is well worth it. I would highly recommend working with Antonella!

Tuscan Travel

Last September we had a most extraordinary experience, when 4 couples traveled to Tuscany. We rented a villa in Trequanda which we used as our base and with the assistance of Antonella, who prepared an absolutely wonderful itinerary for us, we had a trip of a lifetime. I stumbled upon her website and reached out to her about one year before our trip. I found her to always be responsive to our needs which is not easy when traveling with 4 couples each with their own ideas. Nevertheless, she remained diligent, and receptive to our plans and her advice and recommendations for daily excursions, restaurants, wine tours, cooking classes and visits to nearby towns was spot on. She arranged for drivers for all of our excursions and different guides for each city that we visited. The guides were extremely knowledgeable and friendly and one can see that they represented the Antonella experience in spades. I can't imagine another trip of this kind without the guidance we had from Antonella. I have since recommended her several times to friends and family. Ciao!

Italy’s best travel planner and guide

I found Antonella’s contact info in Rick Steves guide to Italy. What a find! I was attending a wedding in Tuscany and wanted someone to build a two week itinerary that would include revisiting Florence, Rome and Siena and experiencing the small towns of Tuscany for the first time. After our initial zoom meeting, Antonella proposed an itinerary incorporating everything I wanted to see and more. She recommended and scheduled our driver, as well as two independent guides specializing in Florence and Rome who were remarkably knowledgeable, professional, passionate and charming. Everything on this trip went as planned. Prices and locations were all as quoted prior to traveling. No unpleasant surprises, only good ones!
Antonella herself was our personal guide in Siena and the Val D’Orcia. She exceeded all expectations with her extraordinary knowledge of history, art, and language as well wine, food and even shopping. Her personality and particularly her sense of humor coupled with her perfect selection of towns and activities (olive oil and wine tastings, cooking class) make her exceptional as a travel planner and personal guide. We learned, experienced and overall, had a blast. I recommend her highly.

Highlight of our honeymoon!

My husband and I did a half day walking tour of Siena and a one day tour of the Montalcino area with Antonella and enjoyed both tours immensely. We really enjoyed listening to Antonella share her knowledge of Siena’s history, food, and cultural quirks. During our day tour of Montalcino, we visited the Le Potazzine vineyard, had lunch in the town of Montalcino and stopped by a boutique olive oil mill. It was clear to us Antonella has cultivated close relationships with the people of the region that it felt like we were meeting her good friends, and at every stop we always felt so welcome and taken care of.

Overall, she was thoughtful in her food recommendations, which were all outstanding! If you are a foodie and want to experience true Tuscan cuisine, trust in Antonella! She went out of her way to help us secure reservations at restaurants that we couldn’t book online and helped us to track down some bottles of wine that we were unable to find in all the wine shops we visited. She was also happy to provide lots of great suggestions for how we could spend the rest of our time exploring the less touristy parts of Tuscany when we were not on tours with her.

These thoughtfully curated experiences were the highlights of our trip we look forward to seeing Antonella again!

Antonelle is the best tour guide!

Antonelle was our tour guide in Siena and she was one of the best guides we’ve ever had! She is not only knowledgeable on all things Siena, but she is very communicative and clear in her presentation, easy going, has a wonderful sense of humor, and went out of her way before the tour to find us a manned covered garage in Siena (Autosilo) that only cost us 13 Euros where we parked our car (with our bags in the back) safely while we were on the tour and playing in Siena after. In addition, she helped me get in touch with a restaurant owner when I could not reach him from the States, and introduced us to Marta, another excellent guide, who gave us a wonderful tour of San Gimignano. Antonelle also introduced us to Nico, a really excellent truffle hunter in Montisi (which was by coincidence, our next stop). Nico taught us a lot about truffle hunting, showed us how he and his dog, Rocky, find truffles, and explained about good vs bad truffles and about the intense competition that exists in the truffle hunting industry on public property and with poachers on private land.
Thank you, Antonelle, for going out of your way for our group of four and for helping us find three excellent tours! We will never forget you.
