I couldn't have asked for a better way to do Cinque Terre. My friends and I are housed in Siena, so we were nervous being able to get to Florence to get on the bus for the tour. So we called the company and they said they would just pick us up in Siena! No extra charge! So that was the first plus.

We took a bus from Florence to Cinque Terre (about 2 hours) and then realized one of the people we were with left their cell phone in the van we took from Siena, and they assured us that they would figure it out and find it so we could enjoy our day tour.

They gave us time at each stop to look around and go in the sea.We took trains/ferry to each stop. It was amazing.

Lunch was included on this tour so they took us to this cute restaurant where they kept bringing out the food! Rosemary bread, seafood pasta, pesto pasta, lemon gelato, potato salad! Delicious!

It was well worth the money we spent for the tour. All of the train/ferry passes were included with the price, and it was great to be stress free about that.

Would recommend it!!!!

(and after they drove us back to Siena at the end of the day the driver was waiting there with the lost cell phone! that says something about the quality of the service!)

I and my wife were travelling to florence and wanted to see Seina and S.Gimignano. I came across this tour from the hotel i staye in Hotel Montreal. MyTours reallyofer some reasonably priced tours.
Our Driver/Friend/Guide Elio was the best that could happen to us . He was amazing, full of energy and had knowledge to share about the place and was entertianing enough not to let us be bored by only seeing the sites.
Tour covers additionally visit to chainti region which was awesome and ok types lunch with nice wines to taste about 4 of them.
Would recommend the tour to people specially if its in a Van, if Elio can your driver your day is made

The My Tours Company in Italy provides private tours to several locations including Cinca Terra on Italy’s west coast. This review is about that tour. Read this review and BEWARE!

My wife and I extensively travel and tour. The vast majority of tours we have taken in Italy have been excellent. This one was a nightmare so read on, look at the photos and learn.

First of all, understand that this is an all-day tour where you spend over half a day (over 5 hours) just driving out to the coast in a bus without a toilet and NO stops on the way there. What? This leaves you with only about 3 hours to visit 5 coastal towns. Therefore, absolutely count on being rushed through everything like a herd of cattle.

Next, understand that My Tours is all about profits and quantity (numbers of tourists) and not the quality of the tour experience. We had 52 people in our tour group and only ONE tour guide who only spoke Italian and English. So just picture 52 people crowding around our guide who couldn't project his voice, attempting to hear what he was talking about all day long. Not fun.

Having a professional tour guide who is both personable and informed is critical for any tour to be a success. Our tour guide "Amadeus" was the Nazi tour guide from hell. Not too well informed about the area, condescending, rarely helpful and completely full of himself and self-serving. With his "Hurry up, let's get going, move along people" attitude, he quickly managed to anger 1/3 of our tour group within the first half hour. This guy insulted two different couples that arrived late for the tour because My Tours and NOT the couple screwed up and delivered them late. He just wouldn't let it go. They felt horrible. I finally took our self-inflated "tour guide" aside and told him in Italian that if he didn't knock it off I was going to give him a "Sicilian Neck Tie" for a present. He got the hint and stopped his harassment. You get the picture, so on with the “tour.”

Cinque Terra is a set of 5 small, quaint and picturesque fishing villages connected by one of the worst municipal train lines I have ever experienced in Italy. The trains were filthy, covered with graffiti and packed to the gills with hundreds of tourists from a number of other tour groups.

Imagine arriving at the small train station of our first town Manarole after a 2+ hour bus drive and a packed like sardines train ride with THOUSANDS of other tourists, only to find that the Italian government in its infinite wisdom has only put TWO toilets at that station. What?!!!!!! The town itself had NO marked restrooms. Apparently, Italians don't ever go to the bathroom or think that tourists never have to go #1 & #2. Makes you sort of miss Mussolini, who at least temporarily fixed the Italian train system in the 1930s -40s.

Our visit to Manarole was so brief that we felt like it was a jogging tour. I have to warn you that if you don’t like large crowds, are in any way claustrophobic, are a senior, are not in shape and/or have any disability that obstructs your ability to walk fast - DOWNHILLS - this is NOT the tour for you. Also, if you are seeking a relaxing day leisurely touring quaint beach communities, this is NOT the tour for you. Our guide was so fixated upon the clock and the fact that we were 20 mins late that he literally forced marched the tour group through 3 of the five towns. We felt bad for the seniors in our group. It was fairly risky for them. Again, if you use a cane or a walker, forget taking this tour. You'll never make it.

We ate lunch in one of the towns at a restaurant called Barbera’s Ristoranti. Lunch was a pesto and seafood pasta which was decent, the wine was horrible, but the service was fine. Amadeus did not dine with us. He had a wonderful seafood meal away from us probably comped by the owner for taking 52 people to eat there. Again, all about him.

We pretty much flew through the small towns taking photos and only spent 1.5 hours (including lunch) seeing the sites. Not really much of a nice day. After that, we had to take the crowded, graffiti plagued train back to the bus for that 2+ hour ride back to Florence. What fun.

Summary: First, do yourself a favor and don't use this tour company. The cost, time, trouble and inconvenience it takes to get from Florence to the coast isn't worth it. You would do far better touring the Tuscan countryside and visiting castles, churches and great wineries. These were pretty towns that would be worth seeing if you visit in the off-season.Hit the coast another time. If you really need to go to Cinque Terra, then do it from a location closer to the coast and go in a much smaller group. The next time I see "Amadeus" I hope it's on a wanted poster in an Italian post office.

If you found this review helpful, please let TripAdvisor know that my efforts to help you were appreciated. Enjoy Italy. Ciao!

MyTour company, Florence. San Gimignano, Siena, Chianti tour, July 2018. Bus has no air condition or WiFi (despite claims on it brochure), It is essentially a tourist shops tour. Entrance fees to attractions not included. Meager lunch where they sell you wine. The company had collected nearly 4000 euros from the customers on that bus for one day but could not offer much more than a hot metal cage in July to its customers. Shameless tour company. The guide was no better than a random person who had memorized some tidbits.

What a strange tour guide! He arrived 20 minutes late and no apology or even acknowledgement of his tardiness. We entered the van and had to introduce ourselves to the others. After him driving us for approximately 20 minutes, he finally spoke to us and announced he was our tour guide for the day and his name was Daniel. It wasn't until our first stop that he had us all introduced ourselves to each other.

Daniel appeared to be on automatic pilot. He was not engaging and asked us questions and answered them in the same breath. He dropped us off at the castle, for 20 minutes free time to explore the area. He dropped us off at to two wineries where we learned about the making of wine plus sampled many.

Thank goodness it was an intimate group of 8 people and we all bonded very quickly. So much so in fact, that we asked Daniel to make a reservation at a restaurant that we choose and he dropped us all off there.

It was a fantastic day out but not because of Daniel.

We had a good tour with Julia so we were surprised & disappointed when it ended 1 hour early! The tour states 12:30-2:30, yet Julia said ciao at 1:30. :( Also the brochure states that the first stop would include "mixed crostini, salami, cheese & a good glass of Chianti"-we never got any of that! Maybe in the missing hour it might have been included? Too bad to give a poor rating, delightful people & delicious stops, just felt cheated by not getting what was promised. Beware!

A friend and I booked this tour to be picked up in Montecatini. We arrived early for the 730am departure...our driver came but said there was one more person coming. He wanted 30 mins past our scheduled departure for someone that didn't show. We were being taken to Florence to meet up with the bus of other tourists. Of course we arrived late to the bus and hurried through payment, rushed to the bus because "we" were late. Getting on the bus the tour director of course made the announcement that the late arrivals were finally here, making us feel like crap and putting the blame on us. San Gimignano was beautiful but not enough time there. The wine tour was another story...after finishing lunch we were supposed to be given after dinner drinks, but the staff rushed us through dessert and out of the building (with one of the staff yelling in Italian the whole time)....never saw the special drink we were supposed to have. In Siena the tour guide went so fast through the streets some of the group couldn't keep up with her or hear what she was saying....it was hard on the older tourists that didn't expect a rush tour. The bus was so so, seats close together, my knees hitting the seat in front of me and I'm not that tall. Was going to book another tour but after this day definitely not....you would be better driving to Siena or San Gimignano!

Well organized tour, competent guide. Unfortunately, we found out that Mytours hasn't been paying their emplyees (guides and drivers) for the past three months.
Will never take their tours again.

The scenery was beautiful. San Gimignano was so picturesque. Lovely shops and just the right small size to see in a short visit. Then on to lunch and wine tasting. The wine and food, delicious. However they packed in two tour groups and were not efficient in making sure everyone had what they needed, for example, my daughter wanted cheese for her delicious pasta but they gave it all to the first people to be served. (Some very pushy tourists!). We went on the tour with mytours. They were wonderful, even as unforeseen problems came up, (bus broke down at the vineyard and one couple very rudely put their seats back on our laps and would not move them repeatedly every time we were on the bus, after several arguments, the tour guides moved us to the other bus which was great!) our two tour guides handled everything adeptly and helpfully. Eduardo and Kiara were their names and they did a fantastic job! Sienna is exquisite. By the time we got to Monteriggioni’s impressive fortress we were exhausted and hot. It was nice there too, very short visit to see the fortress and then back on the bus, luckily that's when they moved us and the next bus was well air conditioned and spacious! All and all the tour was great and worth the money to see so much in one day. Also they picked us up at the apartment, found us, and delivered us to the meeting point for the bus. So you don't have to stay in a hotel to get picked up in the am. Also as you leave Florence the tour guide tells you much about History and areas on the way.
