We were late arriving at the winery due to a gps gaff, and missed the tour, but we were treated with great kindness and arrangements were made for us to be included in the lunch and tasting. The scenery from the terrace swept us away! Just so beautiful! The staff were very accommodating and friendly. We were placed with a... More

We booked a wine tour and tasting as part of our Tuscan vacation, and are very glad we did so. Barbara gave us a tour of the property and explained all that goes into harvesting grapes for wine and olives for olive oil. We learned all about what makes wine good or bad, and how weather can have a huge... More

Sovestro in Poggio Winery was in a wonderful beautiful location. The tour by Barbara was informative. Her experience growing up as well as her commitment to this vineyard and it's excellence in wine came through. The lunch was lovely showing off both their wines and olive oil. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves wine and Tuscany.

We came here during our stay in San G as it was extremely close to the B&B we were staying at. Upon calling, there were no more tours but we could taste until 6/630. We came by and were warmly greeted. We opted for the lowest level of tasting (9 euro I believe) which was for a vernaccia di San... More

We stopped by this place for wine tasting after reading the reviews on TripAdvisor. Very disappointed by the service the atmosphere and the price.

Dear "Aurso", sorry but I find this your review a bit amusing. Why you judge us expensive? We show everybody our choices with prices before to start do wine tasting and do free wine tasting at the desk, just in case you don't want to pay for that. Anyway the wine tour is on reservation (usually via email or phone)... More

Unfortunately we couldn't do the wine tour anymore as it was fully booked. So we decided to take the tasting which was offered by the owner. It was a warm welcome! The wines and bites were tasteful! Great view over the Toscany hills full with grapes!

Love winetasting and to visit different wineyards, but this one was a big dissapointment. Average wine, uninterested people at work and not very cosy. I'd rather visit all the small wineries nearby.

Dear "Guri A", if I understand correctly you prefer to visit small vineries? We are one of the smallest producers in the area and we don't have distribution at all. Our wines are on sale only at the winery and we don't advertise our little business. Tripadvisor reviews are almost the only way we actually have to let people knows... More

There are a lot of wineries in the area but I believe this is one of the best.I visited the winery in mid June and it was very hot.Walking from SAN.GIMIGNANO to the winery takes about 20' depending ,of course, on one's physical condition and age.So walking under the blazing sun was a real challenge for us(WE ARE IN OUR... After a short walk though the vineyard and olive trees, you seat under a nice shaded area looking at the fantastic view of the tuscan countryside and you not only taste great wines but also eat Ribollita, cold cuts and cheeses. The Olive oil is also delicious. We spent about 5 hours enjoying the wine, the views, we didn't want... More
