This was on our walk from the train station to the Leaning Tower and is a great photo opportunity. Close to restaurants and shopping.

Ponte di Mezzo is the main bridge crossing the Arno River from one bank to the other. It is also a gathering place for students of the nearby University of Pisa. Flea market on train side of bridge when we were there.

This is really just a bridge. Nothing special, and not super beautiful. You’ll have to cross it to get to the old city/leaning tower, or to get to the shopping street/trainstation.

We found free parking near the Pisa bus station but had to walk 2 kilometres to see the Tower of Pisa. On our way along the Arno river to the Piazza dei Miracoli we passed this picturesque arched bridge, again on the way back. Its worth a photo (I took a video).

Pisa is a small town, and apart from the world famous Leaning tower and Piazza Miracoli has not that much to offer.
However, after visiting them we strolled the city streets and came upon a nice river walk by the Arno river. With deserted streets during the summer midday heat it was a perfect picture spot.

We walked across this bridge at least four time a day during our three day stay as we were staying next door to the Palazzo Blue. The river views were great, especially at dusk and we stopped to gaze several times.

This bridge offers a nice scenery of the houses along the river flowing through Pisa. It’s also a great place for beautiful pictures that makes you understand how artists get their inspiration to paint.

We stayed in a hotel just next to this area and loved the area at night. It really comes alive with people of all ages locals and tourists. Local small shops sell alcohol and all the locals gather and chat along the edge of the river on the walls talking and laughing in a really chill way. A safe environment. There are also some bars and restaurants nearby and late night gelato!
We really enjoyed it and felt it was a real in site into the local Pisa.

A bridge over the Arno, what more can I say! There are views of the buildings by the river but the bridge itself is nothing exciting
