Unassuming
Aug 2020
Small unassuming church on busy shopping street. Quite plain inside but with nice statues, paintings, windows and high wooden ceilings

Beautiful church behind an unassuming facade
Apr 2019 • Family
Behind an unassuming facade is a beautiful church, accessible from the middle of Corso Italia. The style is Renaissance and Baroque. It has beautiful altars on the sides and a 16th century pipe organ. Outside is a statue of Niccola Pisano.

Roman catholic Church
Feb 2019 • Family
The Roman catholic church of Santa Maria dei Carmine is located on Corso Italia. The church was built between 1324 and 1328. The church itself underwent many reconstructions across the centuries Example the present facade was built in 1830.

Beautiful little church
Jan 2019 • Couples
As you’re walking down Pisa’s busy high street it’s easy to miss this little unassuming church nestled between the shops, but it’s worth taking a look inside. It’s quite small and understated, but very beautiful with some wonderful paintings and sculptures.

Simple, but important
Sep 2018 • Couples
The simple church was built for the Carmelite order in the 14th century and undergone through many reconstructions and interventions through its history. It was decorated with the major 15th century altarpiece that was dismantled and dispersed in the 18th century to the museums and galleries all over the world. Still, there are some interesting paintings to be seeing even today. In front of the church is a statue of Nicola Pisano, the 13th century Italian sculptor, who is often considering to be the founder of a modern sculptor.

Nice but not A grade church but the lovely cloisters were a surprise. Including the marker above head height for the Great Flood of 1869!

Plain exterior
Oct 2017 • Couples
The outside of this church on the main shopping street is very plain by Italian standards but the inside has a few nice surprises

Unassuming church
Nov 2015 • Couples
A pretty unassuming church we happened upon during our 3 hour tour of Lucca. Nothing to write home about but worth a look. The ceiling was really the highlight of the church.

Wonderful simple Franciscan church
Jan 2016 • Solo
I stumbled onto this church in a dreary evening when a mass was going on. The building is very simple in its interior in the Franciscan way, a welcome contrast with the duomo and other churches in Pisa.
I recommend to see this edifice

A regular church
Sep 2015 • Couples
This church is simple. After seeing all the grandeur around the place this might not be the one you would look forward to unless if you have a specific thing in mind .
