About
Hi everyone! My name is David, born and bred in Tuscany, and currently living in Pisa. I was a travel agent in the past, and as of 2008 I have been an official, fully-licensed tour guide for Pisa. I enjoy showing visitors the historical and artistic beauties of Pisa along with its daily life, characters and gastronomic traditions. My activity as a tour guide mainly focuses on walking tours which I find to be the perfect way to get a feel for the city, its people and traditions. My services include quality small group walking tours of the city of Pisa with or without reservation for climbing the Leaning Tower and private tours for those who prefer a more customized service. Please do not hesitate to contact me for more information; I would be happy to help you make the most of your visit to Pisa. See you in Tuscany! David - Pisa Explorer

We were a small group and David was a wonderful guide. Casual stroll through the business district of town the included a stop in H&M to see the architectural and artistry of days gone by. That was a hoot! Ended up at the Leaning Tower of Pisa, of course, and was escorted right to the stairs to climb to the top. David's plan and language skills made for a successful tour of town.

We really enjoyed discovering Pisa with David!
He offered us a very comprehensive and pleasant tour of the city, with great anecdotes, and making us discover the landmarks and points of interest, some we could never have found on our own (thanks for the great photo spot on the roof!!)
We very much recommend this tour to anyone visiting Pisa
Thanks again David!

David, our guide, gave a fascinating tour of the city. His empathy and wide knowledge of Pisa, it’s history, people and buildings enabled him to easily adjust the tour to the participants. His engaging personality, ability to answer all questions and tips for eating and subsequent things to see were exceptional. We enjoyed the tour thoroughly and highly recommend it.

As a food lover and research freak who had enjoyed many delicious meals in other parts of Italy, I spent many days online scrutinizing guides and blogs and message boards trying to uncover Pisa's best restaurants and markets, only to come up mostly dry. I even bought the Slow Food app, which is written in Italian; not one recommendation for Pisa. I was starting to wonder whether the place was some kind of a gustatory black hole. As I was in town for a while, I decided to give David a whirl, and am so glad I did.

David's recommendations were excellent, and I sampled a couple of dishes that could hold their own against those served in much more exalted foodie corners of the country. I know I will never forget those marinated anchovies, or that pasta dish with guanciale with a deep smoky note. I can't wait to return to some of these finds.

Grazie David for a delicious day!

This was an excellent tour, informative, foodie and fun.
David's spoke excellent English and took us off the main tourist route to taste some great street food and home cooked style italian food. All delicious.

The refreshments were ideal for a hot day as was the food, lots of cold beer if we wanted. I would suggest participants skip breakfast and go with an appetite.

David responded to all our questions and elaborated on various topics we raised about the history and the region itself.

Would highly recommend this tour. David knows his city and its history.
