I searched for a private tour of Florence & Pisa on 8/7/22 rather than the ships tour after reading that participants had a lot of walking to do to reach the centre of Florence and Pisa on the ships tour.
I came across Bella Italia and booked a private tour for 5 of us,
Right from the start they were very professional and the tour was tailored to exactly what we wanted. My many emails were answered promptly and politely.
Stefano our driver/guide picked us up 8.00am on the dot from the ship for our drive straight to Florence, he was lovely and had so much info/history to share regarding the area. He dropped us right next to Piazza del Duomo where we spent 40 minutes having coffee in the square and taking pics, Stefano then came back to walk us to Accademia where we had tickets for 10.45am, he managed to get us through the Q and quickly into the museum, don't think we would have found our own way there as quickly. It was agreed he would pick us up from the corner of the Duomo where he had dropped us off at 2.30pm. We had time for a lovely lunch and a walk to the Ponte Vecchio bridge.
We then went up to Piazzale Michelangelo to see the fabulous view of the city before heading to Pisa.
At Pisa Stefano dropped us off literally in front of the Tower of Pisa, no walking at all bar up through the lawns surrounding the tower. Before going back to the ship Stefano drove us around some of the sights in Pisa as it was his home city once again providing some of the history.
All in all a fabulous day in a comfortable air conditioned people carrier, with cold bottled water provided whenever required and a super guide.
Yes this tour was a little more expensive than the ships tour but we got to spend so much more time in Florence and Pisa and we didn't have huge amounts of walking to do, Incidentally the car I think could seat 8 so it would make the tour cheaper if more were going.
Well done Stefano and Bella Italia. I will be recommending you to family and friends.

Massimo picked us up at our hotel in Montecatini Terme. The driver was waiting at the hotel 15 minutes before departure time of 8:30am. The Mercedes minivan provided a smooth ride with plenty of interior space. Our driver provided historical context throughout the drive. He pulled over to let us take pictures of Andrea Bocelli’s home, the San Gimignano skyline and the snow capped mountains way off in the distance. We visited Volterra first. Our guide walked us through the town for 45 minutes, then left it up to the group to decide when to meet back at the minivan. I recommend climbing a tower in every city you visit. Palazzo Dei Priori in Volterra had the least impressive tower view, but it is still worth visiting the interior and taking the short climb to the top. Our second stop was San Gimignano. Our driver gave some pointers and let us on our way. We elected to eat lunch near the Piazza della Cisterna. The worlds best Gelato (according to the signs) is served at two spots in the piazza. Our last stop was wine tasting at Tenuta Torciano. Massimo happened to be a Sommelier. This made for great conversation on the way to the last stop. Excellent wine , olive oil and food. Tenuta Torciano made vegetarian plates for the vegetarians in the group. One warning, you pay for the wine tasting separately with cash. Make sure to take some Euro’s if you include wine tasting. We ran a bit later than the original plan and returned to the hotel by 6pm.

I emailed BellaItalia prior two weeks prior to our trip. They responded immediately. We exchanged daily emails which helped us decide which tour options to take. I prefer to travel by train when in Europe, but this trip maximized time. The efficient trip was well worth the cost. Our group of six had a wonderful time. I highly recommend adding this trip to your schedule if you are staying in Montecatini, Lucca, Pisa or any of the smaller towns just north of Florence.

I randomly found this company while looking online for tours for our upcoming cruise. They had good reviews so I thought I would book a private driver to take us to Florence rather than do an 8 hr tour booked through Royal Caribbean. The booking agent was quick to respond to my request and answer all my questions. Even though we only had one day at this port we wanted to see many different areas and the booking agent had no problem customizing our itinerary to the sights we wanted to see. Our tour guide, Massimo, was wonderful. He look us to the leaning tower of Pisa, then to Florence for lunch and to walk around the area and finished our day with a quick trip to an amazing little winery where we received a private tour and wine tasting. During the drive he told us all about the different areas we were driving through and since he knew the kids were interested in Leonardo di Vinci he made an effort to tell us facts about him. The entire family agreed that this was the best tour of the trip. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a tour in this area. We will definitely be using them on our next vacation.

We had a lovely time on our private tour of Cinque Terre and Pisa. Our guide, Emilia, was lovely and had the most beautiful calming voice, with that gorgeous Italian accent. She talked and educated us the entire drive to Cinque Terre; she was so accommodating, she took us to the Leaning Tower of Pisa too, because we really wanted to see that.

If planning a tour in Italy, I highly recommend this company and ask for Emilia, you will not be disappointed. This was reasonably priced for what we wanted, they drove us in an air conditioned Mercedes, provided us with water, instructions and good communication leading up to the tour. Would definitely use this touring service again.

We had wanted to visit Pisa, but our primary tour agency didn't offer the excursion. So Massimo picked us up at our hotel and drove us there. Part of their tour package was to visit Lucca, which we had already done with our primary tour, but this time we chose to rent bikes and ride along the city wall-very cool! Massimo was very patient with us and the times we wanted to spend exploring in Lucca, as the tour was catered to my family of six. We skipped the winery tour so that we could catch up to our primary tour for a paid dinner. Massimo did his best to provide us with a wonderful experience in the time that we had. He was a great driver and took good care of us. The reason for minus one star is because the company didn't give much warning we had to finish payment IN CASH (Euros) until the night before. Luckily, my husband was able to withdraw cash that night and then the next morning to cover the cost. We don't just haul that much cash around on us and had paid via credit card initially. A heads up sooner would have been nice, and we had been communicating earlier via email and phone to make arrangements since we had to alter our tour details. Otherwise, the company did well to work with us and delivered a fantastic excursion.

Our guide Emilia was amazing and her energy and friendliness really helped make this a great day. She kept us one step ahead of the crowds and provided interesting facts all along the trip. The towns are stunning and would be more enjoyable without all of the overwhelming crowds. The staff we met in the stores and restaurants ranged from indifferent to extremely rude. Stay clear of shopping in Monterosso and be prepared for the rudeness. Swimming at Monterosso was great and refreshing and there was one of the very few washrooms there nearby. Almost impossible to access in the other towns. Definitely worth to visit but try to see it with Emilia’s help or in low season.

Breathtaking view of the vineyards and great hospitality! My kids and I enjoyed the cheese and bread during the wine tasting .
After our guide brought us to the town of Vinci where Leonardo da Vinci was born.
I highly recommend this tour if you like history and are curious about the art of wine making

This experience was the highlight of my trip to Italy. The tour guides were friendly and charismatic! The vineyard was like a fairytale! It was so beautiful we didn’t want to leave. The wine and food was out of this world! Nothing could have been better. I would recommend this tour to anyone who loves wine and wishes to learn about Italian culture.

After days of worrying whether the Cinque Terra boat tour was going to meet it's minimum booking, the good news came in on Saturday that the tour was going to happen on Monday! We were thrilled. It was a beautiful day, the seas were calm and our guide Emilia was so sweet, kind and informative. And in the end Bellaitalia proceeded with the tour just for us! I highly recommend this company and tour guide.

BellaItalia Tours was most helpful in assisting a group of 8 passengers on a cruise to put together a tour from Livorno to Cinque Terre that we had thought was not going to be available to us. Communication was prompt and clear, directions specific. We traveled by a comfortable van to our starting point where we met our guide, Elisabeta who was most warm, wonderful and informative. She took into account the interests and abilities of the individuals in the group and conducted the tour accordingly. Every participant - four couples who did not know each other prior to the tour - all concluded that this excursion was the highlight of our cruise. We were fortunate that we were able to arrive at the villages by sea, enhancing our experience with spectacular views of the cliffs from the water. Thank you Elisabeta for providing us with a most special and memorable tour.
