One of the major bucketlist wishes has came true in Pisa, Italy. The trip from Florence was thrill and anticipation filled. The great thing was, the tour started on time.
Right there in Pisa, the scenery was just so exhilarating and already etched in my memory.
Getting on top of the Leaning Tower was the highlight of the Pisa affair.
Life is indeed beautiful. Buongiorno!

Pisa is a small town and the main attraction is the area occupied by the tower, the church and the baptistry. The place is very nice... if you are thinking getting something huge... welll, that doesn't happen in Pisa. Anyway, it's really nice! You can visit the three monuments but they are quite expensive because you pay them separately. I suggest going to the tower (if you have to choose on of the three) because you have a lovely view from the top. Also you can "feel" the inclination while climbing up.
The place is very crowded and there are people selling their stuff all over so you may have to keep an eye on your pockets thanks to the pickpocketers...

Once Pisa tower was in 7 wonders of the world! I reached PISA in train from Genova,Italy. There are local bus services from PISA railway station to PISA tower. It takes 10to15 minutes to reach over there!

15 euros are the fee to enter into the tower. The stairs are in circular manner and you can go to the top of the tower. You can see the whole PISA town from the tower. The PISA town looks in Red color with the Red bricks on top of almost all houses.

There are Big Bronze Bells on top of the tower. Take photographs!!
Once you climb down, use your creativity to take photographs....with PISA tower.

There are many shops which sold souvenirs. Have pizza/pasta near around.
There is a nice church in the pisa tower's compound. 2 euros are the entrée fee. The paints and murals are amazing in the church!!

Great exercise climbing to see the tower. It is a ways from the parking area and city. However once you arrive , it is amazing to see! We took lots of pictures and visited the vendors! Warning: Vendors on the way in are very aggressive and bothersome!! If you are in this part of Italy you can not miss this!

This can be done as a day trip on the train from Rome and back again. We had a nice lunch and enjoyed it as a nice day trip.. Remember to stay off the grass! Us the Panoramic camera of your IPhone as you are walking in and you can get a pretty cool shot!
I found a great place for a piece of pizza at Pisa!!! (see pic)

We visited Pisa on 10th August 2014. Luckily our trip was a morning slot so there weren't too many tourists and it wasn't too hot.
I was struck by the picturesque view of the buildings all stood together in the "Field of Miracles".
As famous as the Leaning Tower is I was amazed at just how much it does lean. It's a stunning building but in my opinion vastly overshadowed by the beauty of the Duomo. Unfortunately we didn't have time to visit the museum or cemetery and the Cathedral was closed for Sunday Service. There are some lovely tourist shops scattered around and we found a nice cafe just around the corner from the attractions.
We also had a river cruise included in our tour down the River Arno. This was also very interesting with a lovely breeze as we sailed down the river looking at the buildings either side.

First sight was most impressive and went better as we progressed around the 3 main monuments. Would not have missed it. Although busy it was easy to get around. Seems expensive to view interiors....but well worth it. A guy sang in the Baptistry. Awesome!!!

The city is not safe, we had our van robbed during the day in the city center, worst call in the police and after we waited for 3 hours no return gave up on it, after we round around the city search a police car and nothing!!!

we walked from the parking lot to the site and when we got to the corner and turned right it was like BAM! There it was, the leaning tower of Pisa. Tall and proud and a sight to see. We took pictures then dined at the restaurant and had a fantastic lunch. This is a sight not to miss!
