Overview
More
The Tower of Pisa (180 feet in height) was begun in 1173 and, due to its faulty foundation on unstable soil, leans precariously more than 14 feet out of line, preventing visitors from climbing its 300-plus steps to the top.

Stairs are not only leaning, but slippery and worn to the point of bowing. Rise/height of stairs is minimal, so an easy to moderate walk. Wear shoes that can accommodate slippery conditions. Going down was harder than going up. Enjoy the views!

"I have been to the Leaning Tower of Pisa. It s a tower and it s leaning. You look at it, but nothing happens, so then you look for someplace to get a sandwich" (D. Devito) That quote is actually quite truthful, but it is...More

In our last day in Italy we were able to visit the Leaning Tower of Pisa and boy was it incredible. You see pictures of it all the time, but until you see it for yourself you'll never truly understand its magnificence. If you take...More

Although it's a must to visit the leaning tower and cathedral, it's very nice to visit the village. Very nice roads and good taverns.

I managed to get another tick on my bucket list by visiting here. So glad the tower has been reopened and you can go inside. Not the cheapest of tings to do for what it is but I wanted to say I had done it....More

its only when you walk inside that you get hit with the freaky conundrum. lean with your eyes or lean with your ears? Both options feel wrong. The sheer weight of the building freaks with you. Climbing the stairs, get in there before tubs and...More

But you already knew that. Whether it's worth fighting a million others to see it for yourself is doubtful in my opinion

It is a striking sight from both outside and inside. Of course everyone wants to go up, only 30 people allowed at a time (every 15 minutes I think)to get the hour you want. A camera is just about the only thing they will let...More

Yes, you can pre-book online. There are plenty of tour groups to choose from. However, we visited on our own without a tour group. There are several websites where you can just book tickets without a tour. You can also... More

Only if it isn't tourist season. Eh, could get close. But I would't go up. That poor cute thing is leaning enough already as it is 🙂

Just get a taxi. It's a short journey and it will give you enough time to take some photos and walk around for a bit. If your planning on going up the tower you could do it in the time you have but would be a bit rushed... More
