The Tower of Pisa (180 feet in height) was begun in 1173 and, due to its faulty foundation on unstable soil, leans precariously more than 14 feet out of line, preventing visitors from climbing its 300-plus steps to the top.

Even though many people skip this attraction, it is definitely a must see. Not as much the tower, but the people. Everybody you see there has a pose like they're punching or pushing the tower. I think I took more pictures of the people other than the tower. But nonetheless, the tower is still impressive.

Beautiful and worth the visit. Shame that you have to walk through the rest of Pisa! In August the drains smell profusely and everywhere! 😨 the restaurant's nearby serve the worst Italian food ever. Didn't get chance to go up the tower which was a shame. Felt very secure as the area was heavily policed and had armed soldier's patrolling... More

I must say it is quite expensive to go on the tower but it's absolutely worth it, you get the best view of Pisa and also it is a one in a life experience, even if you might get a bit sick going up. Also, you can get unlimited time on top of the tower, but I suggest booking for... More

It is a good thing to sight see is it worth coming here to see, yes if you are going elsewhere in Tuscany. If not there is not much else here.

Actually a nice experience, a wide square with the tower, baptistry and cemetary amidst grass lawns, which you can sit on at night but not in the day. The tower is the obvious attraction; watch out for people falling off the concrete bollards as they pose for their "holding up the tower" photos. It also leads into the old town... More

It really is worth a day trip to see this famous landmark. It is really quite incredible! Also, the cathedral and baptistry are worth seeing so if you're in the area, do visit Pisa!

It does what it says on the tin! It's really leaning and it's a tower! View from the top is worth the 300 steps up! Best place for the 'pushing the tower' photo opportunity is on the left hand side (with the tower behind you) of the Cathedral steps,

We took a taxi after getting down from cruise at La Spezia port. It is about an hour drive from port. It is world famous landmark. Whatever we had heard about it, it was better than that. Due to shortage of time we did not go inside. It is surrounded by beautiful garden. Worth visiting once in lifetime.
