The Tower of Pisa (180 feet in height) was begun in 1173 and, due to its faulty foundation on unstable soil, leans precariously more than 14 feet out of line, preventing visitors from climbing its 300-plus steps to the top.

The tower itself is a lot bigger than I thought and the lean made it a bit nauseous to walk up to the top but it's a beautiful building and the views from the top are amazing. The stairway up can get a little claustrophobic when people are coming down and €18 just to go up is a bit pricey... More

Impresive, it's the atraction point of Pisa. A small city with some very nice places is perfect stop if you plan a tour of Italy.

This is a very famous tower in Pisa, it looks small from a distant but as you get nearer it is a tall building, gives a little strange feeling standing next to this historical place, took lots of pics., did not go up the tower as it was getting a bit late in the afternoon.

Always wanted to go here and we where staying fairly near by. Really really beautiful area well worth a visit. Also some nice restaurants near by just avoid the street traders.

Loved the tower, it put a smile on my face. I would recommend going early to miss the crowds. You also have to pay to most things.

It was fun climbing up the tower when it is not level. There were great views of Pisa from the top of the tower.

You know the drill. Stand a couple of hundred yards away and get your fellow visitors, or even a complete stranger, to take that obligatory photo of you pretending to be holding up the tower with one hand. Only problem is the photographer usually doesn't quite get the angles right and the photo just isn't good enough for the album.... More

What an amazing sight. It appears out of nowhere when walking along the street and amazes you each time you see it. We paid the 18 euros (each) to go to the top of the tower, it is expensive but when are you going to do it again? I would recommend seeing it at night if you get the chance
