This is right beside the tower and the cathedral. The fountain is very pretty and has a very cool history. Worth it

A relatively small statue sculpture, close to the leaning tower and cathedral. If you miss it during your visit to the piazza, not to worry.

the only reason to make a picture of this piece might be to have a foreground to the Cathedral and the tower...

Tourists persist in calling pot-bellied babies angels, although the sculptor Giovanni Antonio Cybei piled cupids in 1765, so the fountain is called "The fountain of cupids". Times were freedom-loving even in stagnant Italy and angels were no longer in fashion. Now the fountain is used as a popular angle for photographing Torre pendente, but can be used for its intended purpose as a fountain.

The Fountain with Angels is located toward the rear of the Piazza dei Miracoli and not far from the Leaning Tower of Pisa. This beautiful piece of marble art dates to the 17th century. Originally this fountain was a source of water for Pisan citizens. In 18th century, the simple fountain was rebuilt and adorned with a marble Baroque sculpture of three angels sculpted by Flaminio Vacca. When visiting the Square of Miracles take a moment to admire this sculpture.

We were walking in the Piazza dei Miracoli looking for the street we entered on, when we saw this little "Fountain of Angels" with angels at the top and children on the bottom. The fountain doesn't seem to function as a water source any more but its worth a look if you're passing by.

Fontana dei Putti or Fountain of Angels is located on the Square of Miracoli. The marble fountain designed by Guivabu in the 17th Century had been fully functional to provide fresh water to the local citizens. However, it has been over-shadowed by the surrounding structures.

On the Piazza Miracoli, there are a few other things rather the Duomo, the Baptistery and the Leaning Tower. There is a cemetery, that is less spectacular than the above mentioned three, but also there is a fountain, with three charming putti playing on it. Probably at the time, when the contractors erected it the idea was a nicely decorated working fountain. The original water source nowadays can't fulfill this function, but became the favorite place of the youth,
If you're wandering around in that area, don't forget to have a look at this cheering site.

This fountain, oft overlooked, constructed of marble, in the 17th century was a source of drinking water. Now just an afterthought, providing a seating area for throngs of people.
