    Watch out pickpockets
I traveled to/frm Pisa Airport in the afternoon. Quite a few pickpockets hanging around the station. Watch out your belongings even large suitcases. People were also cycling inside the station so be careful. Wish there were more cafes or convenient stores here. Small station with 16 Platforms. Pisa Mover is near Platform 13-14. About 25 minute walk to Leaning Tower of Pisa or less than 10 minute taxi.

    Originally constructed in 1871
We visited The Leaning Tower of Pisa by getting a train from Florence to Pisa Centrale and then a bus to the Towere. Pisa Centrale station was constructed in 1871 and is a quite plain and not spectacular building. The station was severely damaged during World War II and rreconstruction resulted in some changes to the original design.

    Well done pisa public transport
We found pisa central to be an excellent place to travel to and from all the places that we wanted to visit. Very central in Pisa. If we couldn’t buy our tickets from the machines we went to the service desk to buy our tickets , the people there could not be any more helpful to us, giving us the best deal when thry could , and the best days for our trips saving us money by doing so and helping us out by giving us lots of information about where we were going , where to get off and how to get there, also to look out for the platform to go on and to be careful, the guy that sold us our Tickets on a couple of occasions was very very helpful .. Unfortunately can’t remember his name. I know he wore black rimmed glasses and was very pleasant… I think the train service is very good with over 185 trains a day commuting from Pisa. Well done.

    Pisa Central Station
Central Station with all the facilities you'd expect. Quick connection on the Pismover(People Mover) to and from Pisa airport, may be slightly more expensive than the bus but quicker. As one of the busier stations in this part of the country there are very good connections to all of Italy. Very regular services to Florence and Livorno. Don't forget to validate your rail ticket before boarding your train as there is a fine of approximate Euros 200 for not doing so. The validation machines are sometimes by the automated ticket machines or on the platforms. You're only a 25 minute walk from the station to the Leaning Tower, Duomo etc.

Absolutely Disgusting. The bus service in Pisa is a con. I’ve also seen several reviews saying the exact same thing. The workers for this bus service run a scam. We bought our bus tickets and got onto the bus, showing the bus driver our tickets. The bus driver told us to get onto the bus and said nothing else. At the next stop, two ticket workers came on and we confidently showed them our tickets. They told us to get off because they weren’t ‘validated’??!! Apparently, in fine print at the bottom of the tickets, it tells us to validate them. Bearing in mind, our family had three kids. One of which, began to cry and the workers showed absolutely no sympathy and had no shame for ruining a holiday. The fine was over €300. Ridiculous and these people should be ashamed of what they do. I personally think the driver is in on it, and picks out obviously clueless tourists and calls the ticket officers to come and fine them. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE remember to validate so you don’t go through the same thing.

Located on the outskirts of Pisa (20-30 mins walk to Leaning Tower of Pisa) this station is perfectly situated. We stayed about 250m away which was extremely convenient during our 3-day visit to this area of Italy. 1 hr. to Florence / 20 mins to Viareggio and its beautiful beaches. Pisa Centrale station has everything you need, coffee shops, ticket machines and staffed ticket booths with very helpful staff. Announcements are in Italian however the screens are easy to follow in English.

TOP TIP - If you are purchasing a physical paper ticket from a machine or a ticket booth (and not online from the TrenItalia App / website) then once you have purchased your ticket and get to the platform DO NOT forget to validate your ticket in one of the ticket validation machines on the platform, once validated your ticket is good for 4 hours. If you don't you will be fined.

At train station used PROFER SOCIETA COOPERATIV for baggage deposit. Great service so you can walk to and from Leaning Tower of Pisa and train station without hauling your luggage around. Easy drop off and pick up. Lots of steps at train station but found elevators to use with our luggage. Narrowly avoided a collision with a bicyclist in station as did not expect as was approaching an elevator to reach a platform. Saw bikes being walked so not sure how common this is, but beware.

Nice little station, with a McDonald's and 2 tabacchi stores where you can get bus tickets. It is at the end of the street corso Italia that leads to the Ponte di Mezzo bridge. We arrived in the afternoon, and we didn't feel this station unsafe, but keep an eye on your belongings like other reviewers mentioned.

If you're visiting Pisa briefly then be sure to leave your luggage at the station. Felt very secure and safe. They photocopy photo ID of your choice and this is checked upon collection. This makes it easy to visit the tourist spots which I walked to within about 20mins. Easy! Bus stop nearby will take you to Marina Di Pisa. Worth a flying visit if you're visiting in Summer (just for the breeze alone!) It's pretty. You could easily do a beach day from the centre (as long as you don't mind rocky beaches).

Pisa Centrale railway station is the main railway station of the city of Pisa in Italy. Though its very small station but it's considered to be one of the most important stations in the region of Tuscany. Pisa itself is a small city. My Airbnb was hardly 1 mile away and we walked. All the platforms/binaro have lifts leading to the passageway that runs beneath them, giving step-free access to the main exit/entrance. Fast automatic PisaMover links Pisa Airport to Pisa Central Station in just about 5 minutes every day, from 6 a.m. to midnight. At Pisa Central Station, the PisaMover stop is located close to platform 14, from which travelers can easily reach the other train platforms and the station’s main entrance.

If you were hoping to see The Leaning Tower on exiting Pisa Centrale train station then you’re going to be disappointed. Like many other 1000s tourists, Stopping off at Pisa, to see the tower, when traveling between cities is a popular option, hence a near the permanently lengthy queue for the left luggage office at Pisa Centrale. The station doesn’t have left luggage lockers, you have to deposit a bag with the attendant and in the summer you may have to queue for more than an hour!
