Quiet plaza located in the San Francesco neighborhood of Pisa. It is a local’s park - couples, seniors and families were enjoying their time in this grassy plaza. There are plenty of benches to sit and relax. The statue at the center of the square is impressive. A small church stands at one end of the plaza. Several cafes/restaurants line the square.

Came across this lovely piazza on our was to the Leaning Tower. This was originally the area of the square that was occupied by the monastery of San Lorenzo: desecrated during the Napoleonic period.
The statue of the Grand Duke Pietro Leopoldo was made in the mid 18th century.
The parkland surrounded by trees which also have the most stunning homes behidn them is a true delight. The day we visited there was a market and later that day we had lunch at a lovely small cafe that served us delicious pasta.
This is a must visit. Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly.

This is a very busy square - it is next to some sort of University campus and it was full of students sitting around when we arrived. There are some nice buildings in the square, and the statue of Peter Leopold I.

A short distance from the Church of Santa Caterina there is this green area dominated by the monument to the Grand Duke Pietro Leopoldo and surrounded by trees. There are also benches where you can relax in the greenery. Pleasant.
