As we haven't been able to visit Europe since March 2020 we decided to contact this great shop and see if they could ship us some freshly pressed olive oil. They shipped it as soon as the new olive oil arrived in the shop and we had it in Canada within 3 weeks. Shipping wasn't inexpensive but it was great to enjoy fresh olive oil with homemade bread again. I ordered olive oil and balsamic vinegar and both are great. I will use some for Christmas gifts and enjoy the rest myself. Franco was very helpful and chose great products for us.

2017, our group found the shop as we wondered through old Florence. The owner was patient and helpful and directed us to two great selections. As we were stay 4 more days we visited again for new selections and have been ordering from them about every 6 months ever since. May of 2021, we will be going back to visit and order in person but until than we continue ordering from our private distributor.

A family owned business that offers tastings of select wines, olive oils, and balsamic vinegar. There are two shops, (Borgovino) right across from each other that the husband (Franco) & wife (Cheryl) have owned for almost 30 years. The shops are small but packed with a nice variety of items from wine to seasonings. Cheryl is very knowledgeable, helpful, & kind. She speaks fluent English, which helped us tremendously. Their prices were the most reasonable in the area. We actually went back after we had done some comparison shopping and purchased some more items before we left Florence.

The owner was so nice! She was very informative. She is fluent in both English and Italian. There were many selections and for very reasonable prices! She has other types of wines in another store right across the street. They also ship worldwide.

This small food market carries many of the same items as the central market in Florence. The owner is very good to give lots of information about her products as well as tourist advice about Tuscany. They carry a great selection of wines, oils, vinegars, as well as spice mixes, sun dried tomatoes, mushrooms. Her husband has a small shop directly across the street which carries cheese and meats. Their prices are excellent and the quality is great. I brought back several items for myself and for gifts and they are all exceptional in quality. They also shrink wrapped some wonderful pecorino cheese so I could bring it back to Canada. Absolutely wonderful shop. Don't miss it.

This is the worst shop we entered while visiting Florence!
Went there to get some wines to bring back home for our collection and to share with friends as well. The elderly lady working there wanted only to know our budget..while for us, the quality of a wine is very indépendant of the price.
So whatever, we did as we usually do when someone ask for your budget, we played low on the price tag and see how we get attended to. So the lady just bristly showed us her “cheapest” one and then went on to attend to her other customer.
Everything is fine up-till then...- just wait for it.
Then she came back at us, while we were looking for at the shelves and told us bluntly to “just leave, I know you are not going to buy anything here and leave. Go and find some wines in the supermarket rather and not waste your time here, you won’t find what you’re looking for” .
If you like being treated that way, fine and go shop there.
But if you’re a wine amateur like me(who has +627 bottles) I’m never going to set foot there again ever
You get treated better in a Wine estate tour than in that shoebox of a shop.

Would highly recommend Borgo! Cheryl was a pleasure to work with, well versed in wine and made shipping it home a breeze. Great location in Florence!

After hours of shopping and never being sure if you were getting a straight scope there's no doubt with Cheryl. She was an absolute delight with a great little shop filled with quality goods. The value is outstanding as is the advice. Former 'Chicago girl' and the real deal.
