Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. Our group of 4 had a fantastic time with Valerio! He was a good driver with a clean and comfortable van which included WiFi. He was very knowledgeable not just about Florence/Tuscany but about Italy as a whole. While he gave several excellent recommendations, he was also not pushy when we opted for something other than his recommendation. He even went above and beyond to contact wineries to see if they had time for tours for us and sent us recommendations for Rome even after he was done being our driver. He was genuinely a nice guy who wanted to ensure we made the best of our time in Italy. We would highly recommend Valerio.

Valerio picked us up on time, took us to a view spot for pictures of Florence that we never would have found on our own without a car, and got us to our tasting event at Felsina with time to spare. After our amazing lunch he adapted to how long we took and we visited San Gimignano on the way back to Florence. We would DEFINITELY contact Valerio again when we return. è molto bravo!

Our driver Valerio was very professional, knowledgeable and fun to travel with. He knew a lot about the area and took us to the best places in Chianti, Siena and surrounding areas. He was on time, patient and flexible with our wishes. Highly recommend!

Our driver never showed up. We confirmed the March 22nd date in 3 emails and even asked if we need to provide any additional information. He sent a picture of his van and seems to be OK. However, we waited for 30 minutes and then called, he said that he would come the next day or two hours later. We had to fly out the next day. He is NOT trustworthy and you should not plan on using him.

How do you give a negative 5 review? How about being completely blown off!!! We traveled to Florence for the Thanksgiving Holiday! Six of us celebrating the holiday. We planned to do wine tours on Thanksgiving. After doing some research we booked with Valerio. We compared his offering to a few others and they were all about the same. He was responsive by email so we decided to go with him. All six of us up and ready to meet him outside our hotel room at 10am. And he never showed up. We call him and he rudely says “today” and then hangs up. We were left with nothing to do and a completely ruined holiday. Do NOT use this service. Not reliable and rude!!!!

I double checked our messages. For the confirmation of the trip, you should have left me a deposit of one hundred euros.
Instead, you just phoned me thirty minutes before your scheduled departure.

Valerio canceled our agreement a week before our trip with a text. Because he got a better offer.
His words “ Ciao Francesco, I'm sorry, I can't help you, as I entered a continuous service of a week. Your hotel itself will find you a driver available for you.”
Very unprofessional.
I’m left scrambling to find an alternative. No decency.

We booked Valerio at the last minute to drive four of us from Florence to our beautiful villa in Figline Valdaro. His car was not only spacious and clean, but it was also a great price. Valerio went above and beyond and even waited while we checked in so that he could drop our bags closer to our villa. We were very impressed with his professionalism. Thank you Valerio!

I travel to Italy often and hire private drivers on a regular basis. I have my go to drivers in Florence but unfortunately they were not available during this trip so I had to try someone new and I picked the wrong company. Though there were few reviews on Tripadvisor they were good and Valerio was very responsive when I emailed him so I decide to give this company a chance. I was staying in agriturismo near San Gimignano for a few days so I need a transfer from Florence to the agriturismo and then back to Florence a few days later. I asked if it was possible to add a half day tour to one of the transfers and Valerio was very accommodating. We agreed that the half day tour would be from 9-2 on the day of the transfer to the agriturismo and that I wanted to do some wine tastings at an accessible place since I am in a wheelchair. A few days before the tour I emailed him my address for pick-up and he responds see you at 10:30 which is an hour and a half after what we had agreed. I emailed him back and we agree that he will pick me up at 9:30 a.m.and drop me off at the agriturismo at 2:30 p.m. Two days before he is scheduled to pick me up I emailed him my Italian cell number and tell him I will be waiting for him outside of my apartment at 9:30 a.m. on the agreed upon date and ask if I can pay with the credit card (the website states we can). He responds that Luca will be my driver as he, Valerio, is going to Portofino with a group of 8. I verify that Luca is aware of which wineries don't have steps for my wheelchair and he claims that he is aware. He also said that I had to pay Luca in cash as he did not have a credit card machine but that on the way back he, Valerio, would be picking me up and I could pay with credit card.
Luca was timely, friendly, and spoke English but was very unprepared. He did not have a since of where he was taking me to visit. He kept telling me I know what village I am going to take you to visit. You are doing to love it. We would get tot he village and he would speeds through it. He never offered for me to get down in any of the villages and I did not ask because I kept think we are getting down at the next one. I kept asking him which winery we were going to visit for the wine tasting and he would not give me a direct answer. At one point he said we are going to Antinori next but what he meant by that was that we were driving by it. I finally became very frustrated and said when are we doing the wine tasting and he said you can do a wine tasting during lunch which that was not what I agreed with Valerio. We had agreed that I wanted to visit wineries. He drove around lost and did not seem familiar with the area. He stopped to ask someone on the street if they new were there was a winery and they said there were not any in that vicinity. He kept driving we went past one that was closed but he called the number and they opened it up for me to do a wine tasting. I have to say that once he saw I was upset he did all he could to fix things. After the tasting we went and had lunch at winery which was delicious and we did have a scheduled reservation.
Two days later Valerio was scheduled to pick me up at the agriturismo for my transfer back to Florence. To my surprise and without warning, it was Luca that picked me up and not Valerio. The day before someone had called the agriturismo to confirm my pick up time. In all honesty I don't know if it was Luca or Valerio. To me this is very unprofessional as I was expecting Valerio. He should have emailed me to let me know that it was Luca picking me up. Additionally this is an issue because I was expecting to pay with a credit card since Valerio has the credit card machine. Fortunately I had enough cash to pay Luca for the transfer. The return trip also had issues as when we were approaching Florence Luca said he had some tickets that he had to pay before he could drop me off since I was in the historical center and you need special permission to enter the historical center. We stopped at some municipal building and he went inside to pay while I waited inside the car. He did leave the air-conditioning on but this was in the middle of the first heatwave and very unprofessional. This should have been taking care of before he went to pick me up. I have never had a driver do this and have always stayed in the historic center.
I would not recommend this company to anyone. There are many much more professional private drivers in Florence and Tuscany.

I'm sorry you had problems with Luca, but he's one of the best private drivers in Florence, for ten years to date, recognized by the whole tuscan industry.
The problem is, you weren't kind enough to him and you demanded too much from a low-paid service.
Anyway thank you.
I wish you a better stay for your next visit.

Courteous and competent driver. We did a wine tasting in Chianti, along with him. Available, with a safe guide, the car comfortable and clean. Accepts credit cards and offers free Wi-Fi.

We were grateful to book Valerio based on the majority of the reviews being positive. The price was reasonable (320 Euro round trip). He arrived on time and even helped us out when we got locked out of our Airbnb.
Before leaving Florence, I provided him the address of our destination and he let us know it was not in Siena as I thought but about 10-15 minutes outside of the city. He even joked that we would have nothing to do in that part of Tuscany. Here’s where things went left: when we were about 10 minutes away from our destination (a 5 star hotel and vineyard) Valerio told us that for the extra distance, he would require an additional 30 euro, 15 each way. The destination had not changed but it became clear that he figured if we were staying here, we could afford it. My husband was livid but we knew that getting other accommodations would be challenging. Also since there was not ATM, we gave $40 USD.
When Valerio picked us up, he was punctual, and although he was very obviously talking about us to the hotel staff, we had paid for a round trip ride and that’s what we needed.
When we arrived back in Florence, he couldn’t figure out how to get to the front of the hotel and essentially pulled into a parking spot at the end of the block and told us to walk. I told him absolutely not due to our luggage and the fact that husband hurt himself the day before so walking any distance was challenging and painful. He then picked up the luggage and started walking on his own. It was clear he was over it and honestly so were we, but the lack of professionalism was appalling. He got to the front of the hotel, pointed at the door, left the luggage and was gone.
I sincerely wish that Valerio had not asked for the additional funds after he saw our accommodations. My husband and I both work in hospitality and were prepared to give him a very generous tip. Prior to the ask, my husband and I privately discussed booking him for a large group trip but we don’t play the scam game.
Extorting clients is not how you run a business and will not build lasting relationships. Good riddance.

You asked me for a quote for Siena and for this transfer we agreed. When I found out that it was not Siena, but more distant, of course I requested integration.
