The area
Neighborhood: Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.

Yarn lover's paradise!!

This was one of the shops on my bucket list while in Florence and it does not disappoint. The staff are very friendly and they know their wares very well. Incredible products in a myriad of colors....Please not that this shop is not open on Saturdays and they close up shop at noon till about 2.30pm. Other than that, I was more than pleased with finding this gem of a store!

A Heaven for Yarn fanatics

This place is AMAZING!
Seriously
Nondescript from the outside, just another gallantries store, but what a treasure inside!
The staff is fantastic, knowledgeable, helpful, friendly…
The yarn is fantastic with really, really good prices!
You walk in and from all sides there are shelf upon shelf of yarn… it’s actually two full stories not just the one you see… but to help you with your selection, there is a large “touch me” wall, where you can touch all of the types of fiber have available, you can select what you would like in base, and pick your colour from a colour cards provided – and they have a few, pretty much each fiber mix has up to hundred different colours and shades available, so have fun!
Once you select your fiber and colour, say how much weight you like, someone will go and get your yarn, all skeins are between 100-200g , all your yarn is weighted on a big scale and that’s it… really different shopping experience 😊
I love this store, so much fun to shop here!
I purchased raw silk (seta burrata at 480m per 100g) the blue is for a sweater and black and yellow for a shawl – one skein has enough yardage for a full project

Not a knitter
Apr 2016 • Friends
I'm not a knitter, but my sister-in-law is, plus she was born in Italy. So, while on my trip to Florence how could I not stop here to get her a gift. Impressive and amazing. Not only did I get her some beautiful yarn, but I had to buy some for myself too - did I mention that I don't knit?

Later in the day I brought my niece and her mom to the shop and they went crazy with how much yarn they bought (they don't knit either). Thankfully they have a relative that will make a beautiful creation for them.

A knitter's paradise in Florence
Apr 2015 • Solo
If you love to buy yarn, this is THE place to go in Florence. They close for a short lunch but are otherwise extremely available to help. Beautiful yarn, really made in Italy. Located just one block beyond the back of the Duomo.
