Elena and Piero were excellent hosts for our private bike tour in the Tuscany hills. Being from north Texas I wanted to experience a rememberable steep climb but also request some more gentle rolling hills for my wife to experience. The wine tours and lunch provided were fabulous. Elena was an excellent cycling guide and was a great communicator via email in the months leading up to our trip to help answer the questions we had (e.g. are cleats or chamois shorts recommended, estimated return time, etc). Piero was a terrific driver/guide and was available at all times to provide van support, recommend multiple vantage points for photos opportunities, and provided water/snacks when needed). We had a prior appointment scheduled in Florence later that afternoon and they were able to customize our itinerary to accommodate us. We would definitely consider booking with Elena and Piero again.

We were in Italy for a romantic getaway and were pleased to discover this day trip biking with wine tasking experience! We were very impressed with the pre-tour communication from Elena. She answered our questions and by the quality of her questions to us about our skill level and interest, we knew we were going to have a fantastic experience!
We met in a small village and were treated to a java in a small cafe before loading into their clean and professional van. Piero and Elena seemed genuinely interested in our story and shared their past experiences which helped us recognize the high caliber of cyclists and guides we were fortunate to be spending the day with.
The bikes were well maintained and we were provided with a variety of safety equipment for our journey. The van followed us, which allowed motorists a ‘heads-up’ that we were ahead on the road. Elena ensured we rode at our own pace and had selected a route that was challenging, rewarding (oh the views!!) and easy enough to accomplish in our given time frame.
We stopped at the Lornano Winery and were greeted by a knowledgeable guide. We received great insight into their production and then some very generous pours of some of their wines. We had our questions answered and there was no pressure sales - although we couldn’t leave without a few bottles of their amazing vintage!!
The ride was very manageable and when it was complete, we were driven to the city centre of Siena. We had a couple of hours to explore the shops, enjoy some lunch in the wonderful plaza and then were driven back to the starting point to get our vehicle.
We would highly recommend this experience. Elena and Piero are friendly, easy to talk with and want to make your experience very memorable!!
Thank you both for sharing the day with us and helping create such great memories!!

Admittedly a little apprehensive of my first long bike ride in.... a while....Elena and Piero delivered myself and my wife on a fantastic, comfortable and enjoyable tour of the hills surrounding Florence.
They met us at a location convenient for us with all the gear needed ready to go. Absolute top of the line bikes lined up neatly with helmets and water. Everything was in immaculate condition and it is very easy to see how passionate and professional they both are. Itineraries are flexible and tailored to your abilities and preferences. We chose Electric bikes which really extend the range that you can go. After a brief orientation on the very easy to use E-bikes we set off up the hills. The bikes have a straight forward interface with different assist levels that make going up hills a breeze, allowing you to feel like Miguel Indurain, even if you have the ability of Mr. Bean.
Rolling hills, vineyards, and friendly banter was the background of the ride and I was stunned at how relaxing it was despite the climbs. Piero grew up in the area and provided a lot of color as we rode through.
We stopped for a well deserved panino at an organic mill before heading back down the hill.
All in all a great outing!
Highly recommend.

My husband and I spent a week in Tuscany with friends from college. We joined Elena and Piero's "Wine Lover's" bike tour and it was fantastic! The day was perfectly planned, with three tastings (one at a wine shop and two at wineries, with one stop including a traditional Tuscan lunch). Elena and Piero are true professionals. We experienced the beauty of the heart of Tuscany and felt perfectly safe on the sometimes windy and hilly roads. The equipment was top notch (like-new Specialized and Bianchi bikes) and perfectly sized for each rider. We are six active adults in our 50's and we opted for e-bikes which meant we did most of the work, but had a little extra help on the Tuscan hills. This day trip came highly recommended by our local contacts in Italy and it did not disappoint! If you are visiting Florence (or nearby towns) and want to experience the beauty and natural splendor of the region, I highly recommend joining a Bike Florence & Tuscany day tour. It will be the highlight of your trip!

Our day-long biking experience in Tuscany with Elena and Piero was absolutely amazing! Our family of five (including children ages 8-12) rode bikes on low-traffic roads with Piero as our guide and Elena accompanying in the van. Along the way, we visited three Tuscan towns, where we were able to have lunch and of course, gelato and explore. The countryside and the towns were beautiful. The biking equipment was top notch and we felt very safe while riding. Elena and Piero made sure we had yummy snacks and water for refueling and took pictures for us throughout the day. We are grateful to them both for an unforgettable memory and would recommend Bike Florence and Tuscany to anyone wanting to actively experience the beauty of the Tuscan countryside!

We came to Italy for a family vacation in June 2021 just when Italy was opening up from Covid. My wife and my daughters wanted to tour museums in Florence. My 15 year old son is more of the active type so my wife thoughtfully researched and booked an all day bike tour with Bike Florence & Tuscany. We requested e-bikes because they allow you to cover so much more range and terrain. Piero was our guide. He was spectacular. Picking us up right near our hotel, we were quickly mounting the hills around Florence in Fiesole. Piero was everything you want in a guide: knowledgeable, friendly, skilled, enthusiastic and authentic. He took my son and I on roads that God made for biking. Open, varied, sometimes winding, sometimes fast straight-always, stunning vistas of Florence and the hills, vineyards, and gorgeous Tuscan scenery. But it was not just great biking. Piero has great information about the various locations and sights. And we enjoyed a terrific Italian coffee breakfast in a charming village follower later by a delicious lunch in a true “locals” place. I can honestly say if you are reading this and wondering should I come to Italy and should I go biking in Tuscany the answer is Yes and Yes—and go on a ride with Bike Florence and Tuscany.

Our bike tour with Elena and Piero was absolutely wonderful. We are a family of five, with teenage / adult children - we cannot imagine a better way to see San Gimignano, the Tuscan countryside and Siena. Piero and Elena looked after us so well - guiding us through the countryside, sharing their local knowledge, providing us with excellent bikes, making sure we were always safe, giving us time to explore on our own and taking some memorable photos for which we are very grateful. Grazie mille Elena e Piero!

My husband and I had a wonderful Chianti Classico bike tour. Elena was great with setting up the tour and Piero provided support and was an excellent tour guide making sure we had everything needed for a comfortable and successful ride. The highlight of our trip was Costello Di Brolio, a magnificent structure made more special by Piero’s knowledge of the history of this strategically important location in the wars between Florence and Siena, as well as during WWII. I would highly recommend taking a day to bicycle the region and see the beauty of the area in a healthy and fun way. Elena and Piero will make sure you have everything you need.

From start to finish, our experience with Bike Florence & Tuscany was perfect. Elena customized a day just for our family and always responded very quickly. Both Elena and Piero were the perfect hosts for the day, thinking of and taking care of everything. They ensured the bikes were all properly equipped and sized for the short (thank you) and the tall in our group, provided snacks and water bottles for each of us, made sure our three teens had plenty of opportunities for gelato, set us up with a great local restaurant, serving local specialties, and arranged for a wine tasting for the adults. The van was super clean and comfortable and had AC for the very warm day. The bike ride was leisurely to accommodate the varying levels of fitness desired (three teens!). Both Elena and Piero take great pride in offering a custom trip that you will remember. I highly recommend this outing with friends or family. We hope to return and bike with Elena and Piero again.

This ride was the perfect reset for us! Highly recommend this company!!!
We were wanting a little escape from the day to day, fresh air and exercise in the relaxing surrounds of Florence. We used the e-bikes to help us to go the distance (4+ hrs) and do the hill climbs we may not have managed on our own (especially as we don’t do regular rides). Elena and Piero were the perfect guides offering information when we enquired and also understanding us wanting to just relax, socialise and enjoy the ride. They even made adjustments to the route to better suit us as they learned more about what we liked and wanted to see. Super flexible! Definitely want to do it again and wish I’d done it sooner :)

I have send an enquiry from the website. My husband and I are staying in San Giminano from May24th -May 27th. We would like to join the bike tour on May 25th from San Giminano if possible. We would not need any transport to and from Florence as we are staying in San Giminano. If you can respond to my email enquiry I would greatly appreciate as we are getting close and we would like to plan our days based on the availability and pricing of this tour.
Thank You

We will have a car, but hear parking is not easy in Florence, so plan to take the train from Montecatini Terme to Florence for some tours - I haven't been able to find the train schedule to find out when the last train is scheduled for a return to Montecatini. Any help with this before we book any evening tours?
