Nice little public library that has a small cafe upstairs. It has a very nice view of the Cathedral. Stop in for a coffee and a nice picture.

We passed the 70m queues for the Duomo and took fellow trip advisors advice and popped in for a coffee. It is a student base and has a university feel to it. Good view of the dome and the coffee was not bad.

If you have some spare time during the day in doumo area, it's a lovely place to stop for coffee :) we didn't wonder around the library though, so maybe we missed something

this place isn't about books or studying, it's about the view. so just go there, ignore the "under construction" areas and all the missplaced things over therr, have a drink (very reasonable prices) and contemplate... this is maybe the best view in town over the...More

This place is one of our favorite place in Florence! My son feels so happy being in this library! The books are varied and the place is clean! The staffs too are very pleasant people except for one young lady who does not respond when...More

We went here as we read about the terrace in a Marco Polo guide book. There was a great exhibition of skulls and bones and early man. The terrace cafe.... disappointing... the cafe drinks was limited... no alcohol (unlike others I've visited.. Prague) and it...More

Some parts of the library were closed but we weren’t there for the books anyway. On the top floor you can access a beautiful outside study area with views over the Duomo. This is perfect for a busy crowded day. You can catch your breath,...More

Nothing special at all. When I am told of a library in Florence worth going to I imagine some sort of amazing large library with dark bookcases and amazing little nooks to study. Instead, you get a strange courtyard with beggars in front, a completely...More

As a tourist in Florence, this place is a welcome break from the main tourist sites. It has a great library for children, especially young children, complete with good children's (and adults') toilets. Obviously the books are in Italian, but that's not really a problem...More

Go to the top floor of the Library and there are tables on a terrace that have a perfect view of the great Duomo of Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral. If you need a few minutes to get away from the tourists and crowds, go...More

Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by
an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city.
The historic center is characterized by the immensity
of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the
brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does
not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni
Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is
enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city
