buyer beware!
Oct 2019
Total rip off artists... told me they would adjust sleeves on leather jacket... when I came to pick up jacket, nothing was done. They shrugged their shoulders as if they didnt understand. (they understood perfectly during the sale) I asked for a simple refund and they would not give it.... TERRIBLE customer service!!!

I'm really sorry we answer only now but we've been after Covid 19 effects, I'm afraid we're not the shop where you've been for 2 reasons: - I've checked with everybody in the shop and there's no memory of anything like this. - If it ever happened something similar we'd have offered a compensation, this is our policy. Unfortunately is already happened in the past that we've been confused with other much smaller leather stores recently born around us with similar names. In any case we're sorry for the impression of our city, we're not like that.

Could barely understand
Aug 2019 • Friends
We were meant to be getting a demonstration but we could barely understand our guide, it would have been better if they chucked on a PowerPoint or something for us to watch. The shop itself was pretty cool tho and the leather products were beautiful

Rude
May 2019 • Couples
My fiancé and i went here to look at leather jackets. They told him one was nearly six hundred euro. Immediately we said that was too expensive and told him our budget. They then took us across the street to the rest of their store which he tried on a jacket and the man again remarked how the price tag said 579 euro. Again i said that’s too expensive and he said “you can get out then” “goodbye get lost”. I think there was some confusion as he may have been willing to sell us this jacket at our budget price when the ORIGINAL price was 579. However this wasn’t clear which was why i remarked that it was too much when he read “579”. Regardless, they were incredibly rude and if he was unwilling to go lower he should have just said so instead of essentially kicking us out. Horrible experience, i was willing to buy a jacket for my fiancé and then a second for myself but after the way they reacted to our confusion i will buy elsewhere.

Not just any leather shop
Jun 2018
This was a very interesting stop and we were privileged to see and hear a demonstration on how real leather is different from fake leather. It was not real clean, but they have some beautiful items that are unmatched.

Great service and goods!
Jul 2018 • Friends
This place is great! They do leather demonstrations (that include how to tell if something is fake leather)... and their customer service is fantastic - very friendly and bilingual. All of the leather goods are high-quality and many you can have customized with gold initials imprinted right in front of you (on wallets, belts, etc.)... They also have a jewelry department which is of equally high quality. There is a very unique ring sold there as well, which I bought. It is four rings put together in a puzzle - the story that goes with it is that a Turkish king gave one to each of his wives to see if they were faithful and one wife took hers off and could not put it back together, so his test worked (don't worry... they have a video online and give you instructions on how to put it back together).

Incredible customer service!
Oct 2018 • Friends
If you’re looking to buy leather or jewelry, you MUST visit Leonardo’s. I went there with my contiki group in October 2014, and when I had a chance to return to Florence this year, Leonardo’s was on my list of places to revisit. I love their unique puzzle rings (I now own three) and get compliments on them all the time! You can tell instantly that they are carefully handmade and one of a kind. Their leather is beautiful as well! The shop smells amazing. Unlike the street markets, you don’t have to worry about buying fake merchandise. The staff is extremely helpful and kind. They go above and beyond with their customers. It’s a great experience to shop there, and a great memory to look back on when you return from your travels.

Get what you pay for!

This is generally a great place for tour groups to visit but don’t let that put you off. Good value items and they actually care that you are happy.

Leather demonstration
Aug 2018 • Friends
Our group had a tour and demonstration at Leonardo’s Leather Works and found it quite informative. The tour itself was short, but we learned how to distinguish between real and fake leather and no, you cannot tell from the smell! The factory also offered a shop that you could purchase various leather goods and get some initials stamped or burned into the leather for free. Worth a peek in if you have some spare time.

Beautiful Gooda
Sep 2017 • Friends
I purchased a purse here and it’s by far the highest quality purse I have ever owned. The style was on point, as I’m seeing this style everywhere now (I purchased the purse last year). They educated me on the different types of leathers and various tricks vendors use to trick people into purchassing poor quality goods. Even if you don’t intend to buy here, I’d suggest stopping in to learn more about Italian Leather so you can make an educated purchase when you are ready to do so.
