All to easy to miss this gem.
Forget the traffic and admire the 2 monuments, one of which was part of the old city walls

Piazza della Liberta is a historical plaza. In my opinion, here looks more beautiful than other more popular plazas in Florence. Traffic around plaza is noisy, but it is worth visiting.

We walked by here several times as we were staying across the street at a hotel. The park itself is quite lovely and has these large arches unlike other piazzas. There’s statues and is a lovely place to relax and people watch. There’s a lot of traffic on the area around it but the noise isn’t as bad as I would think due to all the greenery.

Specifically walked to Piazza della Liberta to check out what we believe to be the welcome gates to Florence.

Honestly was expecting more, there was only one other person there checking these out other than that there are much better arches across Europe and I am very surprised they are over the too given the history of the town and the sculptures that lived in Florence

Would only suggest checking out if in the area otherwise skip this stop

Located a short trip from the old town centre and best accessed via the C1 bus is this small piazza. It is difficult to access because it was set in the middle of a round about. Here there was meant to be a replica Arc De Triumphe, a fountain and a gate called Porta San Gallo. We were disappointed to find that it was fenced off for renovations.

There are better arch’s around Europe and ones that can be seen easier.
Piazza della Liberta has lots of trees around it which is great for nature etc but terrible when you want to photograph it.
One of the best places to photograph it from is busy with lots of traffic.

A great place to park your car especially overnight when visiting friends as there are restrictions on car parking in Florence. Place was safe but had to get up to feed the meter at 8am.

Amazing place but surrounded by a large round about which is the only downfall.
Close to our hotel so walk past it every day

Piazza della Liberta is more of a roundabout, rather than a public square. It really functions more as easing traffic flow than providing some peace and quiet for people to relax. You can't really relax in peace and quiet in this little green spot in the middle of a very busy traffic intersection. Good luck if you can actually get in there in one piece! We passed a couple of times by this area on our way to our hotel, which was nearby. Very busy spot with two large Triumphal Arches, which actually look rather nice. There are some seats in the piazza so people can sit if they wish. There is also a fountain with a sculpture in the middle.

Not much of a park, but the two arches here do photograph well. It is completely encircled by roads with screaming honking cars and motorcycles 24/7. Don't expect to find peace here. There is a parking area here, which is almost impossible to get into. €2 for first hour, €3 for the second. I think you can only buy two hours at a time, but you can stay all day (8am-8pm) if you want to keep pumping the meter. Free outside of those hours, so a decent option for overnight parking.
