I happened upon Belvedere while on a walk exploring outside the main city circle. I ended up able to enter for free with my school ID, and was shocked and pleased by the amazing view. I did not go inside, but spent all of my...More
We entered the fort from Boboli gardens and enjoyed the spectacular views over Florence in the late afternoon. There is not much historical information around the site which was disappointing so a guide or some preparation might improve your visit.
There were some art exhibitions...More
It’s a steep climb from the Arno river to this fortress built by order of Grand Duke Ferdinando I di Medici on the highest hill of the Boboli Gardens. From here, you can see the entire city of Florence. Galileo used this location for his...More
The Fort Belvedere is in a nice quiet area of Florence, it was nice to get away from the crowds. The view was stunning. Great view of the cathedral and dome. €3 per person wasn’t too bad value.

The fort is really great place to enjoy the view of the city !! Comparing with Michelangelo Square, the view from the fort is much better !! In addition it’s not so crowded.

Confusing pricing, used to be free, really humourless staff who hushed us for talking at a conversational level, followed around by over zealous security staff obviously expecting one of the kids to start using the sculptures as climbing frames. Worth the climb for sensational views...More
For me, this was the reward of climbing all the way up through Boboli Gardens in a very hot day. Incredible views of Florence and surroundings. The caffe is kinda expensive but ok, had no issues with the service.
Pitti is a neighborhood characterized by art and history. Renaissance architecture such as Pitti Palace, which houses five museums alone, introduces visitors to the green lungs of spectacular Boboli Gardens. Any visitor can wander through statues, fountains, and panoramic viewpoints. Around the garden, treasures like the Museum of Natural History of the Specola and Villa Bardini guide guests through
Florence as the cradle of the Renaissance. End the day with an aperitif in Piazza della Passera or the more romantic Forte di Belvedere, which offers an amazing panoramic view of the entire city.
