What an amazing place - my understanding is the school was started after WWII for children orphaned by the war to learn a trade and the school continues today, making amazing leather goods. I honestly didn’t love all the designs and prices are at the...More

Unable to find suitable gift for someone. I also went looking for a leather jacket for myself but hardly ever available small size 44 or 46 men according to one salesperson. None when I visited. Scratched off from my leather store bucket list.

You see the beauty of the craftsmanship in every item. Their designs are exceptional. This is a stop that should be added to every Firenze itinerary. Look at this store before buying anywhere else. I of course couldn't resist and bought myself a little something....More

This was one of our best leather-shopping experiences. It is clear that all items are authentic leather products, there is a great selection of items and many price points, it is all reasonably priced, and they offer free monogramming. Customer service is also excellent and...More

Cannot say enough great things about this place. First of all, I had some time to kill before climbing the Duomo steps, so we decided to buy a ticket to enter Santa Croce. That was fabulous, but when I consulted my pocket guide to Florence(Thank-you...More

We had browsed the ‘markets’ which were overflowing with jackets, belts, and purses. But buyer beware - many are not real leather. I bought a couple of purses for fun at a low price. For my splurge pieces I went to this leather school. Bought...More

It’s funny I added this stop to my TA list. Without realizing it as we walked towards the back of Santa Croce Church we saw the school sign. It’s right next to a neighborhood school so we weren’t certain if we could enter lol. We...More

I was excited to visit as a leathercrafter myself, but discovered the artisans and front staff were busy selling or making rather than answer my questions. Not the experience I was hoping for but interesting to see for about 20 minutes.

Santa Croce
Stop and stare at the beauty and symmetry of the
Basilica of Santa Croce any time day or night.
Unraveling around it are a number of architectural and
artistic masterpieces, from the Synagogue to the
Central National Library. As a hub for young people,
the area gets busy with people who want to have fun: a
continuous flow of tourists and locals become animated
by songs and dances.
