We visited this wonderful shop with our private walking tour guide. We're so glad she introduced us to this stunning workshop! The artisans were welcoming and friendly and showed us how they create their unbelievable works of art.

The showroom is like a museum of the highest quality craftsmanship. What a treat to experience this rare artform that deserves preserving.

We were renting an apartment only a couple of blocks away and accidentally stumbled upon the open doors of the studio. Although we weren't sure that visitors were welcome, since it is obviously an artists' studio with work being done, we were motioned in by the owner and wound up spending over an hour with him, his son, his daughter in law and some of the other artisans, learning about the work being done and given a tour of the gallery. This is a hidden gem in Florence and should not be missed. They are incredible people who love to explain the work and we feel very lucky to have found them.

Jacopo and Bruno are really masters in Pietra Dura Mosaics, the best masters. Each one of their works is a masterpiece, unique, precious and perfect. If you forgot to buy a mosaic in the "bottega" in Florence it is not too late: buy your precious Italian artworks at commessofiorentino dotcom

We felt so welcomed in the studio. We were given a personal tour on how they cut the stones and make the mosaics. Then we visited their gallery. Such a rare treat - and such absolutely beautiful works of art.

We were so excited to stumble upon this artist studio and be invited in to look around and take photo's. It gave me a new appreciation for what goes into making one of these mosaici that I see around Florence in store fronts. Some of them take as long as 3 years to be completed. The artistry is inspiring.

This is a wonderful place to see the artists at work. Intriguing and beautiful don't do the art form justice. This is a must see. We visited in the evening around 5pm. The shop was not at all crowded and the artists were working on various pieces. We had a 2 year old in tow (stroller) but were easily able to enjoy the works on the wall and watch the artists at their craft. We didn't get a tour, but thoroughly enjoyed our visit even so.

This was the highlight of our trip to the Mediterranean. Old world trade of mosaic stone art. Tough place to fine but worth the time as well as seeing the talent of these artists. Family run business that is very inviting. A must go to place.

If you are already familiar with the art of pietre dure you absolutely cannot miss a visit to I Mosaici di Lastrucci the next time you visit Firenze. If you have not yet seen much of this work, then first visit the Opificio delle Pietra Dure and/or the Galleria Palatina in the Palazzo Pitti then go to this botega to see the AMAZING works in progress by these very talented artists! We visited in December 2014 and were met by the very friendly and ever gracious Asami who gave us a detailed tour of examples of the past and present of the art of mosaics in "hard stones" practiced by her husband, Iacopo and his father Bruno Lastrucci. The prices of the pieces reflect the very labor intensive process of the art. But if you are able to make a selection, Asami makes the whole process easy and enjoyable. She took care of the shipping and our priceless picture arrived home in a beautiful package soon after we ourselves returned from Italy.
Asami also went above and beyond the expected and gave us invaluable assistance when we asked for help with an unrelated matter, which we really appreciated.
We highly recommend this workshop and we plan to visit it every chance we get!

We visited I Mosaici Di Lastrucci on the recommendation of our tour guide Lara. It was the highlight of our visit to Florence! Bruno and his son, Iacopo, are the most amazing artists/craftsman that I have ever seen! I was more impressed with the mosaics that they create, than I was with the Sistine Chapel! The works that they create can only be described as breathtaking! My family and I could have spent the entire day there. Bruno, his son and daughter-in-law were very generous with their time and knowledge. They were warm and hospitable! Just a wonderful family! We are looking forward to a return visit to Florence and purchasing a special piece of art history from this special family.

I completely agree with all the positive reviews. We were just there last week and were amazed at the beautiful hand crafted work done by these modern masters! We were a bit discouraged by the high prices for once you see them, you will want to take one with you! We ended up buying three very small pieces that have not arrived at our house yet that I will cherish forever!

It is definitely worth a 1/2 hour of your time to visit their studio! They couldn't have been nicer and it is an experience to see them working. I also saw the Monet's Waterlilly piece that another visitor had mentioned. It was a commission from someone in Los Angeles and was completely amazing!!
