A group of us wanted to arrange our own transport to visit the Ferrari Museum when our cruise ship docked for the day at Ravenna, as we didn't want to pay the cruise lines high price nor to be on a coach with about 50+ other passengers.

This arrangement proved to be more difficult than you would think, as I was unable to find any providers in Ravenna and the surrounding area. After much internet searching, I decided to widen my search and contacted a number of companies in Italy in the hope that someone could help me.

Luckily for me, Mario Pacini of Driving Guide Tours in Florence, proved to be our answer.

Mario kindly helped me to organise a minibus for 16 passengers at a very reasonable price. Our driver was waiting for us when we got off the ship, he drove us to Maranello, waited whilst we walked round the museum and for some, took drives in Ferraris at a nearby facility, and then he drove us back to the ship. And a great day was had by all.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Mario and Driving Guide Tours to anyone looking for a professional drivivng/tour service in Italy.

Thank you Mario.

We had a flawless experience with Simone touring some beautiful towns outside of Florence. We took tours on two separate days and each one was wonderful. We will definitely be booking future tours with this company.

We recently returned from a 2 week discovery of Italy ,traveling with good friends.

Florence was our second stop and we had prebooked a private tour with Monika a transplanted German whose heart belongs to Italy & the Chianti region ! Our friends had been advised through their friends that she was the one to book as they had experienced her tour and highly praised it !

We met at a square near our hotel in Florence she was prompt and ready for our day meeting us in her mini van very comfortable for 4 adults. So inroductions in order we were off !

Because we had already informed Monika of what we wanted to see and do she had our itinerary ready. She will custom your day trip to exactly what you please to see and do .

Pisa was a must for us our friends had been there 5 years earlier and we are not ones to mill about and get that perfect "holding up Pisa" picture we were there for just enough time..not much there .I ticked Pisa off "the list" !

Cinque Terre was a must see Monika gave suggestions as how to navigate the Terres and brought us to a wonderful place for lunch best seafood soup one of my favourite meals !

The day brought lovely photo ops Monika is very informative and kept the conversation going as we traveled along.

My friend being a foodie had "The Mad Butcher" on her list and we stopped for lunch .( this happened day 2 )It was excellant. Unfortunately the butcher was in NYC so my friend did not get to meet her idol but did get a photo taken behind the counter there. It was near there that Monika introduced us to her local town as she resides in the countryside of Chianti...so quaint hanging boar and smoked pork ..they had quality wine for sale by the glass in a refridgerated dispenser fabulous idea !!
We ended up in La Spezia and then headed back to Florence . Our day had started at 8:30 or 9 my memory fails me .

Our last stop was Lucca at meadevil village one of our favourites in all our travels through Italy.

She will give you time and let you explore and then meet back up at a prechosen spot . we never felt rushed and all our questions were answered.

We returned around 7 - 8 pm so very long enjoyable day . We all loved the tour so much we booked her for the next day which brought us to Sienna and more . Our day ended wine tasting at Montefioralle Vineyard ( I have wriiten a review of that on TA) amazing !!!The views and memories never to be forgotten !!!

I may( I know) have confused day 1 with day 2 but you get the idea . Monika also provided us with maps as to where we had been high lighting the roads we had traveled .

Monika is a must her love of her region and country shine through and she was worth every penny we payed !

This was definitely one of the highlights of our entire trip!! Perfect day top to bottom! Francesco was great! Very knowledgeable and he added some wonderful things to our itinerary, including a beautiful abbey. We wanted to have lunch at a vineyard and his recommendation was spot on! I would highly recommend treating yourself to this service!!

My husband and I had the great pleasure of touring Northern Italy for 16 days this past October. We cannot say enough good things about the three days we spent touring Tuscany with our driver/guide Juliano of Driving Guide Tours of Florence. The Mercedes sedan was always clean and very comfortable, and Juliano could not have been more of a gentleman (opening doors, etc.) He had wonderful knowledge of the cities and villages, their shops and restaurants, the "must see" places, as well as the interesting history of the areas we visited. He was completely flexible - allowing us to spend as much or as little time as we wished in each location. As I had injured my back and was using a cane, Juliano would let us out at the closest possible entrance (and then go park somewhere else if necessary), and then pick us up right at the exit. As he drove, he got to know us a bit, and from that made suggestions as to places we might enjoy visiting. We stopped in Verona to visit Juliet's balcony; Modena to learn more about the making of balsamic vinegar; in Parma to see how parmaggiano/reggiano cheese is made; toured a winery built into a cave for a wonderful tasting; to Assisi to see St Francis' church; to have lunch in the beautiful piazza of Sienna and visit the most beautiful church we saw in all of Northern Italy; to try the "World's Best Gelato" in San Gimignano; to explore an ancient underground hiding place under a wine store in Montipulciano; and the interesting and diverse list goes on!! With Juliano's command of the language and knowledge of the area, we always felt we were being treated like royalty and shown the very best of all there was to see. Without hesitation, when we plan our next return to Italy, the first contact we will make will be to Driving Guide Private Tours of Florence and hope that Juliano is still there! Even though we will spend a lot of our next trip in the southern part of Italy, I will see if this company can accommodate us, or would value their recommendation of another company if we travel too far out of their area. As you can tell, we highly recommend Driving Guide Private Tours of Florence and Juliano as your driver/guide!!!

Christmas 2014 we were in Florence - 2 adults and 5 young adults (18-29 years of age). We had 2 tours from Francesco at this company. Our first was a walking tour of Florence. We had the tour geared to our interests of food and artisans. The areas we visited and the knowledge imparted to us was excellent. Having a local show us around allowed us to go places we wouldn't have been able to do on our own. We also booked an all day driving tour of Siena and San Gimignano. It was obvious that our guide, Francesco, was extremely knowledgable of both the area attractions and history. The tours were informative and fun. In addition to the tours, we booked the company to drive us from Florence to the airport in Rome. The ease of the transfer is worth the price! Next time we go to Florence we will defiantly book other tours with Driving Guide Tours. They are a bit expensive, but worth every penny - very reliable showing up exactly when and where they said they would.

We had 4 adults and 5 kids in one minivan that was very comfortable. It was one on the best tours we had on a 12 day cruise. Ask for Fabrizio to be you guide. He was fantastic-Great English-very informative –hospitable. He went out of his way to see that all 9 of us enjoyed the visit to Florence /Pisa. Even with a Gelato stop for the kids (and adults) on the way back to the ship

Excellent scheduling of the trip. We arranged all our trip - picking up from the airport, water taxi, guided tours with museum skip the line tickets, hotel pick up, driving from and to the two cities, excursions - with this company, and everything was perfectly arranged, no delays, excellent drivers, polite, luxurious cars. The guided tours were also great, with special remarks to our guide in Florence, Ilaria, who for five hours walked us through the Uffizzi museum and the Academia, with ispiration, attention to detail of what she believed was important, and love for her job. It was one of the best guided tours I ever had.

Matteo, our guide and driver, picked us up at 8AM and we headed first to Lucca. The day was beautiful and we rented bikes for the morning – a must. Matteo took us for a tour first around the city walls and then into the city itself. He even arranged for us to have lunch a bit early so that we could make it to Pisa for our tower climb tickets. He was terrific! I would highly recommend spending more time in Lucca and staying for lunch. This is very charming city and the food is fantastic! Pisa was a must for our kids for than for me but certainly worth a visit on a gorgeous day. I would recommend climbing the tower and then spending a little time in the rest of the field of miracles. From our experience I would get tower climbing tickets either early to start the day in Pisa then go to Lucca or later (no sooner than 2:00PM) to allow enough time to have lunch in Lucca. We had tower tickets for 1:45PM and this was tight.
