This is a delightful spot away from the hustle and bustle of central Florence. The cemetery is mainly English but not exclusively so.Some very interesting graves and a couple of surprises. Do some research first for the best experience, we did not but were lucky to run into one of the workers who spoke perfect English.

This is a nice cemetery next to a traffic circle and on a hill overlooking the area. Lots of interesting headstones with English writing. The staff was nice and accommodating.

I went here to visit Elizabeth Barrett Browning's grave. It was a little hard to access, as it is in the middle of a traffic circle, but you will be richly rewarded! It is no ordinary graveyard, but a very pretty spot with beautiful flowers and fantastic sculpture. Talk to the woman (Julia Bolton Holloway) who works there; she is a wonderful trove of information.

This cemetery was a lovely walk from my hostel. It is the final resting place of Elizabeth Barrett Browning, and many others. A nun at the front gate offers a guide, and there is a small gift shop. Funerals are still held there, although space must be limited. The Cemetery is an island of land surrounded by roadways within the city. Apparently is was easier to leave it rather than try to move it to allow for city expansion. A quiet and peaceful place of contemplation.

A cemetery is not usually a place on a tourist's must see list, but the Cimetero degli Inlesi (Protestant Cemetery) is a quiet oasis of calm in this city so worth passing through
