Not what I expected

Unlike a lot of people I stayed until the end with my wife. It's not the traditional opera setting my wife had wished for. The proper opera is in a different area of town. The... read more

I had been looking forward to visitung this show since I started planning our trip to Italy and I must say that it has been the biggest disappointment so far, even worse than having my wallet stolen! To pay €50 each and then be told there are only 2 instead of 3 tenors singing tonight and that the other 2... More

What a sensational evening! We saw the 3 Tenors Tribute at the Auditorium and they were fantastic. So talented, so entertaining and whether you love opera or not, you will love this evening. A must do when in Florence.

After booking this, I'd expected it to be a grand auditorium, but was greeted by a hall smaller than most school theatres. The performers were rehearsing by the bathrooms at the last minute, the lighting was totally amature and the place was a real disappointment, especially from the price. Should be called 'Small Stage Nearish Duomo'.

Unlike a lot of people I stayed until the end with my wife. It's not the traditional opera setting my wife had wished for. The proper opera is in a different area of town. The performance was good of the opera, 4 musicians, 3 cast singers, 2 ballet dancers. It is expensive for what you get. Do the proper opera... More

After queue on arrival directed to nice terrace restaurant, short wait fof table understandable.Problems : small platter of cold meat/cheese arrived, same amount as a solo man on next table. Plates arrived after 5 mins, then wine & cutlery. Had to ask for some bread, then had to ask for napkins. Then ignored. No... More

i had decided not to do this because i figured out that this is not a full scale production in the Duomo. But we were walking by the Teatro the day before the performance and found young lasses handing out vouchers for 20% off so decided to try it. Glad we did. I am no expert on opera but I... More

Note: This performance is NOT at the Duomo as we thought. As an out of town visitor who does not speak Italian, I jumped at the chance to see opera performed in the Duomo. Upon close inspection of the ticket, my daughter who studies Italian identified the actual venue a block away from the Duomo. I was disappointed because I... More

We were so disappointed at our evening at what we thought was the Duomo. The singing was very good on this tiny stage but it was wasted. The production did their best, but with every interval more and more of the audience walked out unhappy. This was marketed as a proper opera and we expected as much, after all the... More

La Traviata - Giselle Baulch as Violetta - unbelievable ! Voice ! She is the great actress. We were deeply impressed by her talent. If you can understand music and charming voice of Giselle - you would not write something about size of Auditorium or quantity of musicians in quartet plus piano.

I watched "La traviata" in a saturday evening and enjoyed the show. It was not the best opera performance of all times, but it was a fair performance. A group of 5 musicians and 6 or 7 singers did their best, and the result was not bad. Some of them were very good indeed. I recomend it.
