We took the trip to sienna, sun geniamo and Pisa. Perfectly organized. Time punctuality. Exceptional guide who gave information in fluent English and French. Very patient. The winery was beautiful and the food above expectations
There was no Wi-Fi working although it is on the ‘what to expect list’
You can’t charge your phone because the sockets don’t work

Studying abroad in Florence was a life changing experience. What made my study abroad experience so fun was traveling on the weekends to a number of different destinations. FlorenceForFun allowed me to travel to over 8 countries at a cheap price. Each trip that I went on had a small groups of students so I got to know the tour guides (Taylor and Evan) very well. Taylor and Evan are very knowledgable about the cities that we visited and helpful when giving recommendations on what to do in each city. They were both extremely nice and really cared about the students and the experience they were having. Taylor and Evan were definitely one of the reasons why I looked forward to each weekend trip and why I kept booking each additional trip. The entire FFF crew are approachable and make even the weeknights in Florence "Fun!"

After a semester of trying every student travel company in Florence, I think FlorenceforFun is the best by far! I had great staff on all my trips (Evan, Seth and Rachel) who made the trips amazing. They were fun, kind and professional. They all knew a lot about whatever place we went to and were helpful when I wanted to do things other than what the group had planned. I went to the Amalfi Coast, Prauge and the Perugia chocolate festival with FlorenceforFun and I am so glad I did. Overall, what sets them apart is that ALL of their staff really makes an effort to care about each person on the trip. Even when a trip I had booked with them was canceled, it was handled in the best manner and I continued to book with them. Would suggest this company to anyone studying in Florence looking to travel Europe!

I speak to all Australians and other travellers avoid this company like the plague!

Recently myself and three other Australians booked a trip on the 7th July to Venice whilst living in Florence for study. Train tickets were booked out, so we thought why not try an organised trip with not much more travelling time.

The whole experience was disappointing to say the least, and would not recommend it to other Australians coming to stay.

After travelling by bus and train, which was not stated on the brochure, we arrived in Venice at 12.45pm - 4 hours and 45 minutes of travel! Had we known it would take that long to get there, rather than 10.30am, we would have booked a train ourselves.

The boat ride down the canal was beautiful but because the guide was not in our boat we were not privy to information regarding the buildings.

Riccardo was an interesting guide assistant, having only interest in American students and getting lost from the group and was clearly eager to party with them at 'Club 21' (a downright disgusting, seedy american club that italian's go to, to prey on young, drunk girls).

I am not sure if the company think that because you attract students we are not interested in the history of the buildings or scenery that it would be easy to forgo any background details.

Stopping at a truck service station with flies for dinner was a highlight for us. Arriving back at 11.30pm with only two hours of free time was also frustrating.

Nine hours travel for a day trip!
Needles to say they did not reply to our emails.

The premise on which we design our tours is to include transport, tour leader and other activites all for the same price or less than what you could do it yourself. The train to Venice has become expensive but without a doubt the fastest way to get to Venice. The way that we save money for students is by taking a private bus to Venice which firstly takes longer than the train and secondly can be subject to delays due to traffic. In all of the years that I have been planning tours, refining tour itineraries based on constructive feedback and improving the intineraries with new activities such as the glass blowing demonstration and the private boat ride down the grand canal (which are cost prohibitive for individual travelers), the two things that I have not been able to control or factor into our planning are traffic (due to accidents, closures, deviations, or other) and the weather. If there is traffic and we are delayed or if it rains all day, I understand that it is disappointing but the best that we can do is to accommodate as much as possible by altering the itinerary. The fact that we have a bus enables us to adjust the itinerary at anytime based on unforseen circumstances allowing us to leave later or earlier which would not be possible by train or other public transport. FlorenceForFun is a student travel agency. We save money for our customers by having larger group sizes. Our day trips are suitable for all age groups provided that over 35s understand that the itinerary is designed for a younger clientele. I do not hesitate to recommend other travel companies in Florence for customers who are looking for a smaller group size with a more personalized experience. However, this costs easily double the price of our tour and maybe even more. Bethany, I will certainly take on board your feedback, and in the future I will be more careful about the way in which I explain the itinerary. I am sorry that you did not enjoy your experience with FlorenceForFun however feel free to contact me in the future for tour company recommendations from a fellow Australian.

I took a trip to Prague and Munich this weekend with Florence for Fun...what a mistake. First of all, the trip was extremely under capacity, so like any uncaring business focused merely on profits, they downsized all of the accommodations. Typically they just cancel trips that don't sell very well - it happened to my friends who tried using them to go to Paris - and I was thankful that they didn't cancel it at first, but once I boarded the mini-van sized bus, I was thinking desperately regretting my decision to book. The bus was tiny, so naturally the seats were one on top of another. I am 5' 8" and my knees were pressed against the seat in front of me. Perhaps this would be okay for a couple hour long ride to Cinque Terre, but for a 14 hour drive to Prague from Florence...unacceptable. Not only that, but there must have been no suspension in that bus. I felt EVERY bump in the road, and a few of us were nauseated by the time we took the first stop. One girl vomited on the bus about one hour into the ride. The bus was advertised as a "private coach with a DVD player and a bathroom." Although it did have a DVD player, a bathroom was no where to be found. This was a big issue for me - someone who uses the bathroom often and would have liked somewhere to retreat in the event that I did get sick. This is also false advertising. At this point, I wrote Florence For Fun telling them about my disappointment. I also inquired why they falsely advertised this trip. It has been about 5 days, and I have still received no response. Another woman on my trip texted and Whatsapp messaged the female owner directly, who has a terrible attitude every time you visit their office, because she too was angry and nauseous from the ride. The owner read the message (read receipts are a part of whatsapp), and did not reply. This alone was enough to make me want to catch the next flight back to Florence, but it gets worse. Neither of the hotels were what was advertised online or in the pamphlets. I will say, the first hotel in Prague was very nice so I cannot complain about that, but the one in Munich was TERRIBLE. I could go on and on about why that hotel was awful, but I'll save that for a Hotel Fidelio TripAdvisor review. The tour guide, Jared, was amazing, which is the only reason I did not catch a flight home, but I was totally uncomfortable the whole trip. NEVER AGAIN will I use Florence for Fun and I highly recommend you use another company like Bus2Alps if you want a pre-packaged trip. I have not used them, but I have heard nothing but positives. Stay away from Florence for Fun, for your sanity!!

The head of the company, Anne, is the rudest lady I have ever dealt with. When our group arrived in Sorrento, our hotel had bugs jumping and crawling inside of out beds, underneath the tucked in sheets. When going to Anne's office after coming back from the trip she was EXTREMELY rude. Talking to her she just rolled her eyes the ENTIRE time speaking to her. When one of the ladies I was with gave an example how the itinerary was false by not providing a limoncello tasting that was said to happen. She denied sending the itinerary and rolled her eyes and said VERY RUDELY "if you want a shot of limoncello so badly, I'll give you one right now." DO NOT go on a trip with Florence for fun.

My language school had this tour on the list. I thought I would go on this tour to hopefully be on with some classmates.

I signed up for tour and went to Santa Maria Novella and met up with tour guide.
When we got on double decker bus we had an announcer--I didn't realise there were three tours on one bus. When we arrived at the first city I went with the over the speaker tour guide thinking there was only one tour guide. The guide came up to me and said I was on the wrong tour?!??! I then had numbers on the confirmation sheet I had and I thought if I text and email certainly someone will tell me where to met up and to find them again. I never heard the Florence for Fun tour operator say where we would gather and meet. I had to buy my train ticket and rush to be with another tour group. I gave a tip to the tour operator so that I would not get lost in crowded little Cinque Terre. I also didn't want to miss the way home a 2 hour bus ride versus a 4 train ride back to Florence.

I never say the "correct" tour guide--he really didn't make himself present. It was very stressful making sure I wasn't left behind. I would rather stay with one team "the other team) than get lost. It was not an optimum visit and I did the best with what I had at hand.

Only Florence is the only place I have experienced 3 separate tour guides on one bus.

I tried their daytrip to Cinque Terre from Florence. The trip itself was kind of busy, but well organized and effective. A nice way to see highlights of the beautiful coast. What I was not so comfortable with, was partying young group of people from short term italian language schools. The group leader was professional and kind. But his co-workers were more like a part of "the party" (who was quite busy checking out/flirting with some girls). If I knew that, I would probably choose to take a trip on my own instead. Overall, it was an ok experience, but never again.

Overall, I had a good time on my trip to the French Riviera. I booked my trip under the impression that I could eat there (there was an option for gluten free provisions). Once I got to France, meal tickets were distributed and I was unable to use mine, so I gave them to my boyfriend. My tour guides saw this and said I could ask for compensation for being misled to believe provisions would be made. Went down to the office, and was rudely confronted by one of the associates in front of the entire office. Before I could even finish explaining she was acting like I was trying to steal from the company and informed me that I was supposed to save the meal tickets. The other tour guides knew that I gave my tickets away and still encouraged me to try to be compensated, but never told me I had to present my tickets at the office. I was completely humiliated and to throw one more dig in there, the rude associate pointedly said to me, "I hope your boyfriend was full." NEVER USING THIS AGENCY AGAIN.

As soon as 20alison20 approached the FlorenceForFun tour guides with the concern of her food allergy and the breakfast that was provided, the guides immediately apologized for the inconvenience and miscommunication between the FFF office and the breakfast service and took action as quickly as possible. The FlorenceForFun staff tried to help 20alison20 by explaining the types of shops that would stock gluten free food and checked in every day to make sure that she had found something suitable to eat. The problem arose on the first morning when the FFF staff members assured her that she would be reimbursed for whatever she bought herself for breakfast, under the assumption that she would not utilize the breakfast service provided. There was a misunderstanding when 20alice20 was not specifically told to not use the provided tokens and proceeded to use them for her boyfriend. It is never FlorenceForFun’s intention to make someone feel uncomfortable when they come to the office to discuss an issue that occurred on a trip. We encourage our customers to give feedback may it be positive or negative. In no way did FlorenceForFun try to accuse 20alison20 of stealing, but in our attempt to explain the issue of using the tokens and the refund, her feelings were hurt. We listened to 20alison20 and her boyfriend’s concerns and gave them the refund they requested for the breakfast that she purchased on her own. Our recommendation to everyone, regardless of whether they have specific dietary requirements or not, is to always be prepared when you are travelling because all sorts of unexpected things can happen. Always travel with a couple of granola bars, hand wipes, band-aids, maybe even a disposable poncho for rain, tissues/toilet paper, amongst other things. For those of you who have special dietary requirements, we recommend that you write out an explanation of what you can and cannot eat and also if you have dangerous food allergies and translate it into Italian, French, German and Spanish. Carry it with you in your wallet where ever you travel. Unfortunately, an issue like 20alison20’s can happen. Many countries do not translate their menus or have English speaking staff, making it extremely important for someone with extreme dietary requirements to be prepared. FlorenceForFun will always do as much as we can to provide food for everyone on our trips, or help with any issue, be it dietary or not.
