A super walking tour of this amazing city with the excellent Riccardo. This is the second tour we've booked with Freya (first one was 2 years ago) and the second time that Riccardo was the guide. We would highly recommend this service.

Had a fabulous walking tour around the main sites Florence, with eight kids in tow. As an adult, it was nice to sit back and watch as the kiddos took in all of the stories. They did a great job of making it interesting for all of them (ages 7-12). With all the kids, we were obviously running a bit... More

We were a group of 11 including a 5-year old. Booking the tour was painless and easy, very prompt responses to emails. We were staying about 60 km from Florence so had decided to start our tour at 10 in order to ensure we would get there on time. Alas there had been a car crash on the motorway so... More

From the moment we met our guide Sara, we knew we were in for a fun filled tour. As a native of Florence, Sara guided us through her city, with such detail & ease. Our kids aged 12 & 14, were constantly engaged, with Sarah's commentary & her in depth knowledge of the history of Florence. We saw a whole... More

We enjoyed 3 tours with Freya's. Joanna took us around the city for a Florence Overture and showed us some unique places. Her knowledge of the city made this so interesting to us and to our 3 teens. Helen took us to the Uffizi and her background as an artist gave us special insight into the art. She was also... More

We booked an Uffizi tour for the morning and the Academia with a walking tour of the historic center that afternoon. Each tour was wonderful and our evening guide even referred us to a wonderful bar with views of the Duomo for a night cap! We would never have seen or learned on our own half of what we experienced... More

We had an outstanding family tour of the Uffizi with Anne Sofie. It was the highlight of our stay in Florence. She has a lovely, kind manner and she connected immediately with our children. Our kids are ages 7, 11, and 14, and they were completely engaged and excited about the art. We all learned so much. Very highly recommended!

Our family of 4 including two teenage girls thoroughly enjoyed our tour today with Sasha. She was so good with the girls and her knowledge was great. It was a perfect 1/2 day tour, especially since we saw the David and learned so much about the statue. Definitely a great tour group and an awesome guide.

My family of 4 had a private tour of the Uffizi gallery with Angela. We decided to book the 8:30 tour as recommended by Freya in order to avoid the lines. Luckily there were few people in the "reserved" line, so we were able to get our tickets and start the tour almost immediately. We had asked that our guide... More

On our first afternoon in Florence, we set up a tour with Freya's based on other reviews of families traveling with children. We set up the tour to give us an overview of the city as well as to see the Accademia Galleria. Freya's was very easy to work with and our guide (Suzanne) was great. She was able to... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
