We recently (June 2015) took a guided, one-day tour around Florence with Walks Inside Florence. Our tour guide was Marzia Valbonesi. She has a great personality and is very knowledgeable. It felt like a (knowledgeable) friend was talking us around Florence. I feel we got...More

We don't normally use tour guides but on a friend's recommendation we booked the small group Orientation tour with the Uffizi extension. We were so glad we did! Paola was our guide and as it turned out we were the only customers, so we had...More

Paola was indeed all that we anticipated and more. Florence has such an over abundance of history and culture and art, it can sometimes seem overwhelming. But our 5-hour tour (which included Santa Croce, a must see in my book) was informative, awe inspiring, and...More

We did the small group tour. Flavia our guide was wonderful. Passionate and knowledgeable about Florence, its art and history. Michelangelo loomed large in the rest of our visit to Italy. We would strongly recommend Walks Inside Florence.

My son and I walked up the far side of Florence, across the river to find a wonderful garden and high overlook. Be ready for an uphill hike.

San Marco
The pleasant atmosphere of this residential area, a
stone’s throw away from the Duomo of Florence,
surprises everyone. A continuous flow of backpacking
students provides the tranquil surroundings for the
elderly residents who sit in Piazza San Marco to read
the daily newspaper. Home to several universities,
including the Academy of Fine Arts, San Marco is one
of the most vibrant cultural centers in the city. A
