About
The church of Santo Spirito old refectory, built in fourteenth-century, is dominated by the imposing fourteenth-century fresco by Andrea Orcagna. It houses the works donated by the collector Salvatore Romano: sculptures, decorations, detached frescoes and furnishings, from ancient Rome to the seventeenth century, among which an Angel and a Caryatid by Tino di Camaino, two fragments of reliefs attributed to Donatello and a Madonna and Child attributed to the circle of Jacopo della Quercia.

This little gem of a museum is off the beaten path but finding it will be a surprise. It is in a former refectory of the Basilica di Santo Spirito. The collection of renaissance statuary and architectural masonry and some furniture is about 70 pieces but they are interesting and well preserved. You must have a ticket and they are only available at the Cappella Brancacci ?!?

If you're in the area, and if it's open, don't hesitate - especially if you're using the Firenze Card, in which case it's free. A sort of little brother to the Stefano Bardini Museum.

An interesting collection of antiquities donated to the city of Florence in the last century by a life long antique dealer and collector. Located adjacent to Santo Spirito, indeed located in the old refectory, the collection has a number of most attractive and interesting items. Since Santo Spirito only opens at 4pm it is a great place to dive into to pass the time if you get there too early.
