The Water as Nature’s Microscope is a must-see/experience. Based on Leonardo da Vinci’s Codex Leicester. Mind-boggling. It’s an an area as you leave the Uffizi past the gift shops so save time for this one.
Symbol of florence, gratitude to Leopoldo Medici who bought all these ancient paintings and sculptures so now we can see them all in once place. Be aware you will need 3hrs to finish. Do not take audioguide. All the information is available under every item....More
We visited the Ufizzi on a Saturday having booked an early (9.15) entrance time the day before. There are queues most of the time but we got in without a delay. I would recommend booking an entrance time. The museum is spectacular, with exhibits too...More
All the superlatives have been said by others, so no need to repeat here.
We must have been very fortunate as we arrived at 8.15, and literally bought our tickets (12 euros), and walked straight in. We headed immediately for level 2 where we had...More
The Uffizi is a beautiful building with amazing pieces in it but you should be aware that they are pretty much all religious iconograhpy and from similar time periods. Many of the pieces are similar and there is not a lot of variety but all...More
The Uffizi is just awe inspiring. Rather than racing through it and looking at just the five or six most famous paintings — and you’ll see plenty of tourists in groups doing just that if you go in the early afternoon (that’s why I’d recommend...More
I cried a few times in the Uffizi. I was overwhelmed by seeing this fabulous art in person. Do not miss it, this is a must do. The gallery is laid out in a very "easy to see everything" manner, so I don't feel a...More
Visiting the Accademia and Uffizi on Easter Monday (1 Replies)
The websites for Accademia and Uffizi Galleries state that they are closed on Mondays, but tickets for Easter Monday are being offered. I read on another site that sometime the Museums are open on a Monday during holiday times. Does anyone know if they will be open on Easter Monday, 2015? Thanks!

early entry tours Uffizi Galleries (1 Replies)
Does anyone know of any tours that go early to the Uffiizi galleries - we are heaing to Florence in July so looking at ways to avoid being in line too long. I found 1 tour on Keys of Florence but according to Uffizi website the gallery opens at 8:15 and this tour meets at 8:20 so obviously after the gallery is open. Thanks in advance Lisa

You can also get tickets online on the official site to avoid the queues. It seems easier and cheaper than paying for a tour you are not actually interested in.
