Linda really made this trip. We had 2 families and did the olive oil tour outside of Florence. We were picked up right at our Air BnB and driven in a very nice, spacious van. We enjoyed a beautiful drive west of the city and stopped for espresso and delicious breakfast treats about halfway to our destination. The olive oil farm was beautiful and felt as thought it had always been there. The caretaker gave us a great tour with plenty of samples. We couldn't stop eating the bruschetta as he kept pulling the bread off ht open fire! Linda was delightful and very knowledgable, and was equally interested in talking with the children as the adults. Our age range was 5-60 and everyone said it was one of the highlights of our 10-day trip to Italy. We would definitely hire her for a different tour next time we get to go to Florence!

First I want to say that Urban Aventures is such a great company. We received a gift certificate before the pandemic which expired before we could travel again so I emailed them directly and they responded promptly and were so nice about it. I highly recommend using their tours.

Linda was our guide on the Florence food tour and she was knowledgeable, efficient, accommodating and made everyone’s experience wonderful! The tastings aren’t extensive but we were definitely full at the end. What more could you want?? Ask any question about Florence, the food, the buildings or even the way of life and Linda will tell you.

We were so pleased with this tour, we immediately signed up to do The Aperitivo Tour she was leading later in the week.

We did the Rome walking tour with Ruza Gagulic on 3rd March. It was a brilliant tour with a brilliant guide. She made it so interesting and wow did she know her stuff. We could have not been happier and now feel like we know Rome inside out! Thanks so much Ruza. From Kate and Tony from Cambridge, UK

I was really looking forward to this for but I waited for over half an hour in the blistering heat at the designated meeting place and nobody showed up. I tried ringing the company, but it goes to voicemail. What a waste of money and a waste of my previously short time in florence.

How very elegant of you to write a take the time to write bad review!! when I explained it is was not possible to contact you as I did not have your email address or know the Hotel where you were staying. MY guide had to attend to a client who had broken her ankle during a segway tour in the morning. The client could not speak Italian and was panicking. You were given a refund and I did tell you that when you return to Florence I would be more than happy to put you on any tour a no charge. Trip advisor is a tool for travellers to understand how the tour was when you did not even attend the tour you can't really write a review .. it is quite simple

During our visit in Florence, my husband and I and two friends did Urban Adventures Aperitivo Tour http://www.urbanadventures.com/Florence-tour-aperitivo-time-florence-wine-tour . Let me start by saying this was the most surprising, fun, comprehensive and enjoyable tour we took during our entire vacation in Italy (and we did the David, the Vatican, the Colosseum).

The tour takes you to 3 locations in Florence where you have a snack and a drink- Aperitivo is comparable to Happy Hour. The tour is scheduled for 2.5hours and you walk everywhere so wear comfy shoes- though it is not excessive distances & bring a camera!!!

We met our tour guide Linda (who was fantastic) at Piazza della Repubblica. The directions to the meeting spot were very accurate and Linda was right on time wearing her identifying lanyard (which said “Urban Adventures”). Our tour ended up being very private- it was supposed to be a small group but I guess no one else signed up. Linda walked us to the 3 sites- at each site she helped us order a snack and drink based on our preferences. The tour includes these purchases so Linda would just handle the interchange with the vendor- to get the most Authentic/Local experience we just let Linda select our items for us. At our first stop we went to a tiny store that was established in 1875 and we had some red wine and Crustinis with unique toppings- DELICIOUS, second stop was a rooftop terrace with beautiful views, there we had traditional cocktails Negroni & Aperol Spritz, the final stop was at a winery storefront owned a one of the oldest wine families in Florence- there we had some prosecco and truffle sandwiches.

The food and drink were great, but the real value in this tour is the guide: Linda. Throughout the entire tour she would talk to us about everything Florence, from the architecture, to the history, to current/pop-culture facts, to information about the locals, to tips on what souvenirs to buy where. No question was off-limits, Linda was very friendly, fun & knowledgeable (also spoke perfect English- so do not worry about communication). Linda even went out of her way to help us a couple days later when we had an issue with an un-related tour in Rome.

This tour was a perfect way for us to explore and get to know Florence. We truly were surprised by this experience and that is part of the reason why it is our top experience from our Italy trip. I highly recommend this tour if you’re are in Florence!

Regret that this Sunday tour was dreadful (compared to a previous 5 star given to Venice food tour). In 3 hours we had one glass of second rate Chianti, two small pieces of bread "dribbled" with a teaspoon of olive oil, a few (delicious) cheeses, some bread crusts, and 2 small pottles (cost 2 Euros each) of Icecream. The guide (Natales) made the excuse that everything else (apart from the Central Market) was closed Sunday. His tour was atrociously prepared and planned. We spent a lot of time sitting and waiting around while he was on his phone. But he did give us his business cards in case we wanted to arrange a future "private tour"!!!
What was most disappointing was pretending (for the sake of our 2 (foodie) teenage boys) that the trip was a great food and cultural experience... Almost no food, almost no wine, very slow paced. Avoid Sunday and check to see who your guide will be.

It is quite incredible that after asking for a refund for this tour and having no problem at all in accepting your negative experiences and apologising you would take the time to write a review. Upon speaking to the other people in the group who had a lovely time and explained that you as a group were all laughing and even inviting your guide who is a professional sommelier to visit New Zealand. After tasting wines from the region, Mozzarella di Bufala, Prosciutto, Bruschetta and gelato at one of the most beautiful open markets in the world to have had such a bad time really quite amazes me!

My husband and I were lucky enough to have guide Anna all to ourselves for the tour. Anna was great, very knowledgeable of history of area & answered all of our questions. Took us to quieter area of Florence which we enjoyed. Loved the Prosecco at the end of tour.

Martini was a wonderful, friendly and informative guide. Food was delicious although we found the steak not as amazing as we had heard. Martini gave us lots of local info and advice for further exploring. When we mentioned wanting to go to Ufizzi gallery the next day she hopped on her phone and organised it for us for the following day which we really appreciated. She also emailed us with info. Thanks Martini!

Hi Andrea Thank you for your amazing review. We are so happy to hear how much you enjoyed the tour. Sorry you did not find the Chiana as amazing as you had heard. It is a particularly lean beef. Happy to hear you also enjoyed our wonderful Guide Martina Best Regards

Mercato Centrale & San Lorenzo Market Food Lovers Tour 2.5 hours.

This was the first item during our visit to Florence and what an incredible way to start experiencing this beautiful city! So much to see, learn and taste in the time provided and every moment was enjoyable. From the first bite of Lampredotto and a glass of Chianti to taking a picture with the most delicious cannoli overflowing with cream and pistachios!

Thank you so much to our tour guide Anna who from the moment we met, my husband and I knew this was going to be a fun tour! Anna is kind, friendly and so knowledgeable about the foods and culture of Florence. Anna is very special!

Most enjoyable time eating and learning in the beautiful city of Firenze <3
