We decided to do a 2 hr 30 min private walking tour on our first day in Florence. I highly recommend this for anyone on their first or 100th time to this city. The theme was seeing the city from a locals eyes and looking past the obvious. Paola lead us through the history and secrets of the city seamlessly.... More

This was my second trip to Florence, and I could not pass up the opportunity to have another tour with Paola. We booked the Discovery Tour and then headed over to the Accademia to visit David. Both tours are excellent, and will enhance your appreciation of this beautiful city. Paola is an excellent guide and possesses vast knowledge of the... More

Paola introduced our family to all the little nuances that make Florence so special. We learned so much and saw Florence through the eyes of someone who is passionate about her city. She took us to historical points of interest but helped us understand so much more about what we were seeing and what these structures mean to the people... More

Four of us had an amazingly informative walking tour of Florence with our inspirational guide Paula. We had arrived the evening previously and had deliberately chosen a guided walking tour as our intro to Florence. It didn't let us down: we had tutorials in art, religion and architecture in an accessible and enjoyable tour. Paula was knowledgeable, skilled and pleasant.... More

This was a 2-1/2 hour tour given by Paola, the owner of the company. Size of the group is limited to ten, and we were only 8, so could easily hear everything without the need for headsets. Paola is a superb and passionate guide. She provides lots of historical detail, but with a knack for the telling anecdote or detail... More

If you want to understand Florence you must take this tour, Paola was excellent, we covered buildings, banking, trade, social and political history! This is a very small group so you can ask questions and discuss what you see. I cannot recommend this tour enough, when I go back I will be going on another tour with Paola! The tour... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
