Famous Chef Giovanni leads the Food&Wine Academy of Florence assisted by a young and dynamic team of chefs. Cooking Classes are given in a typical Tuscan space, next to the central market where you first go grocery shopping, or in a Tuscan Villa in the countryside. Put your hands-on to create your own meal, driven by the expert and super fun hosts as you sing along Italian songs and taste Chianti wine. Bruschettas, fresh-made pasta from scratch and tiramisu.. are the way to your Graduation Certificate!

We, a small nice group of 8 persons, first started with a visit to the Central Market and our guide showed us around and providing a lot of useful information about the local food, such as meat, cheese, ham and wine. I feel less puzzled about what I could bring back home after got those tips form him. After that,... More

We did two cooking classes with this Academy. They were the absolute highlight of our trip to Italy. I cannot recommend them highly enough! The classes we did were as follows: - A market tour and pasta-making class (5 hours). We were taken around the Central Market, given explanations about different ingredients and their uses, and then we went to... More

We booked this cooking class through our travel agent knowing ahead of time this would be one of the highlights of our visit to Firenze! This class was all that and more. We met first off with Daniel; he took us on a tour of the Central Market which was both eye opening and educational. Daniel then took us to... More

We have been to Florence before and seen some of the many sights there but this interactive experience was one of the best part of our trip. We had fun, saw the market and were entertained by Ilda and Daniel while learning to make some great Italian food. The class ran from about 8:30 till somewhere around 2:00 and there... More

We knew we wanted to do a cooking class in Florence and found this one - no regrets! It was awesome, our hosts Davide and Ilda were superb. Super helpful, friendly and entertaining. We were lucky with a small class of 9 and loved it. We can't wait to get back home and impress our family and friends with our... More

I went on this tour last week whilst in Florence for work. I had to find an activity to do whilst my partner worked, and this was the perfect experience. Davide was the tour guide, he was super knowledgable & really kind. The food tasted incredible, and I felt like I learnt some handy skills. Even though I was on... More

I've found this course on Tourizan website and I've enjoyed it very much!!! We have eaten typical dishes, and we've learned to cook them, from the beginning to the end. The curious thing was learning the tricks of the chef. There were also children having fun with hands in the dough. I highly reccommend this course for adults and children!

Daniel and Davide involved our 7 and 8 year old kids in their demonstration. The pizza base tasted very nice compared to what we normally get. The gelato was good too.

The Pasta and Gelato class was a fun night and great for us and our 11 year old daughter. The pizza making was hands on and you eat what you make. The gelato was a demonstration but we still got to eat this too and it was delicious. Both chefs who led the class were fun and informative - I... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
