This was a highlight of our trip to Italy. Chef Vary taught us to make 3 different types of pasta with delicious sauces. We then ate a wonderful meal with the new friends we made. Vary is informative and funny. Would recommend to anyone looking for a small group experience.

Wow...where do I begin? My daughter and I were celebrating her graduation from college with a whirlwind trip through Italy. We got very lucky and snagged two spots in Chef Vary's evening pasta class. Chef Vary is a delight! We had 10 people total in our group and she made everyone feel right at home (which is appropriate, since the class was held in her home!) We chatted for a little while to get to know Chef and the others, then it was straight into the kitchen to make our pasta from scratch. After making the pasta dough, we had to let it sit for a little while...perfect time for a Spritz! :-) The evening went on with lively conversation and fun stories from Chef Vary while we created the sauces and cooked everything. This is definitely a PARTICIPATION experience...it is not a demonstration. We did the cooking. The end result of our work was the best pasta dinner we had in our entire stay in Italy! The dishes were wonderful and there was plenty to eat! Hopefully, we will make it back again after Chef opens up her exciting new space downstairs!!!

BTW, I would definitely recommend scheduling the dinner class, it's a great way to end the day with fun and a fantastic meal!

This was such a fun class! We learned how to make 3 different types of pasta and sauces. Everything tasted so good! Plus Chef Vary is so funny and really explains the ingredients and how to access them back home!

Chef Vary and Edoardo welcomed us into their amazing home for a wonderful cooking class. I emailed a few classes on a whim based on my wife’s suggestion when we arrived in Florence and was glad she responded first. Chef Vary was very good during the initial communication phase over email and phone. She gave us plethora of options to chose from for our personalized cooking class. We informed her about our vegetarian diet and she gave us great suggestions and hints based on her website of things we could make.

On the day of the cooking class, we arrived at her BnB and Edoardo and Chef Vary welcomed us into their kitchen and gave us a quick overview of all of the ingredients and cooking steps we will be working on for the next few hours. We proceeded to do all of the initial prep and cutting while joking with Chef Vary about our travels, her cooking adventures, and many other topics. She showed us cool tricks in cutting vegetables which we will surely take back with us.

We went on to make a wonderful tomato sauce, fresh made ravioli (wish spinach/ricotta stuffing), panzanella, fresh eggplant parmesan and some crepes for dessert! Edoardo gave great company throughout the class and made sure my wine glass was always full and we were having a great time!

Both Chef Vary and Edoardo do a lot of international work and travel which make them great hosts for other travelers. They are very knowledgable about various cuisines and preferences for different ethnicities and anticipated our inclination for spicy/garlicy food without us even having to tell them ahead of time! They tweaked the dishes to highlight our palette and that was a great personal touch.

After we finished bulk of the cooking, Chef Vary put on the finishing touches and presented our food to us one course after another in amazing fashion. Her creativity and presentation was very much appreciated.

All-in-all, this was a great outing for my wife and I. We will highly recommend this to anyone that finds their way to Florence!

Thanks again for the amazing experience Chef Vary and Edoardo…

Vary is an excellemt cook and is very passionate about her food and dishes. Eduardo explains the ingredients and how the dish is cooked. They are both wonderful hosts and nothing is too much trouble. They as k you beforehand what you do or don't eat and take it from there. The wine was lovely too!

Such fun - great company, great food & Vary is a hoot. Nice alternative to eating out - make your own dinner and learn some Italian history in the process!

Chef Vary and her husband were fantastic. They were wonderful hosts, and Chef Vary gave excellent instruction to us all, while interjecting humor along the way. Oh, and the Pasta was fabulous! I highly recommend this experience, for a fun-filled and delicious evening, specifically with Chef Vary.

Chef Vary was a wonderful host. She had organised a set pasta menu, then showed us some of the produce she bought at the markets that morning and asked us if everyone wanted to try something new - of course we all said yes! She was a great instructor, and everyone in the group was hands on as we prepared 3 different types of pasta. We capped off the night with champagne and delicious wine, and devoured all the pasta we had made that afternoon (do not eat beforehand, the wait for dinner is well worth it).
She also emails everyone HEAPS of recipes after the cooking class - not just the ones you make!
Absolutely incredible class, and I have recommended it to everyone we’ve met along or travels who are in the Florence area.

I purchased a cooking class with Chef Vary for my husband for his birthday to be utilized during our first trip to Italy. It was the best gift ever. Not only was it educational but chef vary made it fun. We had a small group of 8 and made 3 different pastas with 3 different sauces. They were delicious. We were then able to sit down and enjoy the meal without feeling rushed. This was all done in Chef Vary’s beautiful home in the heart of Florence. We highly recommend Chef Vary if you want to experience a true Tuscan dinner.
