My daughter & I thoroughly enjoyed the tour and tastings at 3 Tuscan wineries with a great lunch at the third stop. Our guide, Tom, was very knowledgeable and explained the details about the DOC and DOCG classifications now used to promote a more consistent quality of wine. The tastings were wonderful and we had the opportunity to purchase wine to take with us and also to have shipped home. The tour was a fantastic way to spend a winter day.

Time flew by on this 8hr wine adventure. Gabriele was a very informative Somelier tour guide and Excellent driver. With the 2 vineyards that we visited, we much preferred the wine tasting at the 1st stop. Not only did we prefer their wines more, but also Gabriele lead us through the tasting in a easily understandable way without any of the pretentiousness you may know from TV. Lunch, even though mass catered in a restaurant, unlike what you may have seen on Netflix, was very tasty and plentiful. Meat Eaters Paradise. 2nd vineyard was very focused on its history. After a small tour across the grounds we had a tasting, which unfortunately was not conducted by Gabriele. The Estate tour guide explained the 1st wine in detail which lead us to expect that she would continue in this way for the remaining wines. This however did not happen as she asked about 5 minutes how we liked all the other wines that had been poured for us. We really appreciated that the tour focused on 2 smaller vineyards and not the Touristy big ones. However, with excellent personell as Gabriele it would have been more enjoyable to have both tasting in the way the 1st one was held. Overall. it was a great experience, we highly recommend it for all wine experience levels. BRING MOSQUITO SPRAY.

When planning our trip to Florence, my husband and I knew we wanted to go wine tasting. After searching many different reviews and companies, we decided to go with Grape Tours and so glad we did! It was absolutely the highlight of our trip. We booked the Super Chianti tour and fortunately for us, it only ended up being my husband and I that day and we ended up having our own private tour (I don’t know how we got so lucky as our tour guide said that the tour the day before and the day after will be fully booked) - but even if we ended up with a group of people, we know it would still be just as amazing! Speaking of tour guide, we had Gabriele, who was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, funny and made the entire tour so fun! He even took candid pictures of us while we did the tour so we can really soak up everything but also have great pictures to remember the trip. We got to truly experience how wine is created from tasting the grapes all the way up to drinking the wine! On top of that, we got to stop at Dario’s restaurant for lunch and it was delicious! We even got to meet Dario himself! Lunch was amazing - tons of different ways the meat is prepared and everything was delicious! We can’t stop talking about how awesome this tour was and would 100% recommend this to anyone, especially to all of our family and friends! Thank you Gabriele and Grape Tours for creating the highlight of our trip to Florence!

We did the Montepulciano tour with Matteo as our guide, and it was the highlight of our trip to Italy! Matteo was phenomenal - as a sommelier he shared so much of his knowledge with the group, and I now have such an appreciation for Tuscan wines. He also guided us through the tasting experience and taught us so much about what characteristics to look for/smell for/taste/etc. The notes he pointed out really made me slow down and savor each taste, and I was so amazed when he pointed out how even a bite of cheese can change the mouth feel of the wine so drastically and give you an entirely new experience. But even with all this knowledge and nuance, Matteo approached everything with humor and made the whole group feel incredibly welcome. Our group arrived as strangers but left as friends with lots of fun jokes and stories throughout the day. The wines that we had were all fantastic and the vineyards were beautiful. The town of Montepulciano is also very cute and it was nice having some time to explore around it after lunch. Overall, I highly recommend this trip. It was nice venturing a bit further away from Florence and trying a smaller wine region that has exceptional products. Grape tours is very well organized, easy to find, we left on time, and the tour was well worth the amount paid! Thank you for such an amazing highlight of our trip!

We chose this tour to take during our 5 days in Florence at the peak of tourist season. We really needed an escape from the heat and crowds of the city and this was absolutely perfect. I have to say if we had not taken the tour with Gabriele I’m not sure we’d have the same experience! He was extremely knowledgeable (he’s a sommelier) and incredibly friendly! The tour starts from an adorable little cheese and wine shop on the south side of the Arno and we left promptly at 10:15am (perfect time to leave). Gabriele walked us through the history of the Chianti region and explained all the history of the wine and the specific regions in Tuscany. Our first winery Fattoria Poggio Capponi was our favorite! The woman who hosted gave us a tasting (really more like full glasses) and served us their estate olive oil. My god it was all so delicious. The second winery we had lunch with the very eclectic host and the lunch was no less than 3 amazing courses. We were all thoroughly tipsy and dropped back at the cheese shop. We took bikes to get to our Airbnb when I realized I left my bag in the van WITH the keys to our Airbnb. Luckily Rebecca and the attendant at the shop were able to get me in touch with Gabriele. He was so friendly he offered to meet us in the city despite living far away. We met up only about two hours later and he handed me my bag. I begged him to let me tip him again or at list treat him to a spritz and he humbly declined. What a gentleman! If you choose any tour company please pick this one. Aside from staying in the countryside this is really your best option! Cin cin!

My husband and I had the absolute best time on our Super Chianti Wine tour yesterday. Catherine, our tour guide, was not only super informative but so also very friendly. She gave us all the knowledge of how the wineries operate in the region and also what to look for when tasting different wines. It was an 8 hour tour and I have to say the flow of the day was just perfect. Even after having amazing cheese and bread during the day and a super large and delicious lunch we were treated to an amazing experience at our second winery where Jackie, who runs the tasting, gave us a second wind and made us feel like just a group of friends just having wine at a picturesque Tuscan winery. Highly recommend Grape Tours.

Gabriel was so knowledgeable as our guide. The office/wine shop was a perfect starting and ending point to allow us to browse and use the restroom before and after a long drive out to montalcino. The wineries selected really showcased the region and the variety of brunello made in the region. We also had some great olive oil as well! We sent 21 bottles of wine and 3 bottles of olive oil back to the US! I was slightly worried that Tuscany might disappoint me as I don’t usually pick a Chianti but brunello is so different I’m so glad we choose this tour!

We also had two friends recommend grape tours who had done the butcher experience Chianti tour, but I can easily say the 4/5 course meal was amazing and totally worth having brunello vs the butcher!

We visited back in August and booked a tour to celebrate our anniversary and round off our trip. Rebecca was a fantastic host and guide. Very friendly and easy to chat to, knowledgable and clearly a good friend of the three wineries we visited. The tastings were generous and varied and you won’t forget meeting Fabrizio who took us round the vineyard tasting grapes off the vine and could probably talk uninterrupted for hours. He was very generous showing us many different wines and the lunch was delicious. We have just finished off the case of wine that was shipped back from the second vineyard (loved their Chardonnay which isn’t on their standard tasting list but I’m sure they will pour you a glass) which reminded me to write this review. It’s a hard time for family run businesses so please do book a tour with them when the world gets a little more normal - we ended up with a private tour in what would be 8 or 10 people normally. Hope to be back in beautiful Tuscany soon

A wonderful tour of the Chianti region paired with a hearty, memorable lunch. Both wineries we toured (both a Chianti and Chianti Classico) were delicious, intimate, and clearly well loved by its owners. We had a great time tasting wines while also getting an education on how exactly to taste with in the proper fashion. Ben was a superb guide who answered all of our endless questions. A great tour for anyone who wants to explore the Tuscan region while also enjoying cheese, olive oils, and quality, organic Chianti wine. A real treat.

We initially booked the Elite Tour to Montepulciano for Brunello wine. We had to go on a wait list at that time for the Elite San Gimignano tour. These are in-depth tours and we chose them because the group size was limited to 8. My husband would have hated the large group tours so we splurged and went for these Elite (all day) tours. We ultimately got added to the San Gimignano tour and we were thrilled. Both days had a winery in the morning, another at lunch, and a third in the afternoon. On 2 days we had 6 exquisite wineries and 2 beautiful lunches. all the wineries were different. We had 1 day remaining and were planning to go on our own to Sienna. I asked our guide on the 2nd morning if they had any Sienna wine tours for the next day....I was told they didn't but he would see what they could do. An hour later they had constructed a private tour just for the 2 of us to Sienna area and would drop us in Sienna for shopping. That 3rd day was the absolute highlight of our trip as we had a private wine tasting at a 1000 yr old winery overlooking the Tuscan hills and the owner of the winery spent 2 hours with us. Our entire reason for being in Tuscany was so my husband could experience just that type of event. The 3 days spent with Grape Tours have spoiled us. Now we are talking about their grape journeys. The days were expensive but worth every bit of it. We came home with 2.5 cases of wine and a case of olive oil from these awesome wineries. Thanks for the memories Grape Tours
