The tour company will customize a tour to meet the need of the requestor. Cinque Terre requires a lot of steps.

Tuscany Car and Drive (0 Replies)
I just want to share this because it wasn’t easy finding a car and driver to meet our ship in Livorno, and structure a day in Tuscany for my wife and me. It took lots of online digging before we settled on Giovanni Sirabella of Sunflower Tours. When booking blind via the Net, there’s always a little apprehension. As it turned out, our day with Giovanni was so memorable that we want to pass along our recommendation to anyone who might be hunting for similar services in or around Florence. ...More

Car Hire Stresa (1 Reply)
Hi Are there any car hire companies in Stresa apart from Avis. We are looking to pick up a car at MXP and drop off a couple of days later in Stresa. I can only find Avis as having an office in Stresa and we had a bad experiance with them 2 years ago in Tuscany.

Car hire in Tuscany (15 Replies)
I am travelling to Italy with my 3 sisters in April. We are going to spend 3 nights in Rome, 4 nights in Tuscany before then take a train on the morning of the 4th day from Florence to spend that day and night in Venice. I am wondering if it is possible to hire a car from, say Sienna and return it to the train station in Florence? I know that I need to avoid driving in Florence, but hope that the rest of Tuscany, other than cities should be managable. I am from the Uk. Would Sienna be a good...More

I'd pick it up in Rome on the outskirts or airport and then drive to the Val d'Orcia and would base in Montepulciano instead of Siena. I adore Siena and you definitely want a day there but it is not a good base as it is a fair size city and you have to drive a good bit from the historic center through urban sprawl before being in the countryside. There are also so many great things on the way from Rome to Siena. Maybe drive to Montepulciano and stay for 3 nights in a hotel in the historic...More
