About
We are born and raised Italians, that have personally developed and been leading small, fun and delicious walking adventures in Italy for more than 25 years. Because we focus exclusively on our homeland we know our terrain and culture intimately. Our reputation has been passed on by word of mouth and our clients return year after year to explore more of Italy with us because they enjoy our personalized and delightful style. We travel to wonderful places all over the country. We have small groups, stay in lovely accommodations as we go, pride ourselves on exquisite picnics and great restaurants and tailor our tours to our groups’ hiking abilities and interests. We are able to accommodate hikers of different levels, (as is so often the case within families and groups of friends) and strive to enrich the travel experience with cultural visits, local guides, vineyards, artisans and special events in the places we walk.

Our recent trip to the Casentino Valley, with Journey Through Italy was fantastic on so many levels.
Based upon reports from friends, we expected a great tour. But this trip exceeded those very high expectations – for each of us in our group.
It was perfect in every way. The food was amazing. We had fresh, traditional Tuscan lunches every day, prepared trailside or in the homes of local residents – picnics fit for royalty, served in the beautiful Casentino countryside and accompanied by specially selected complimentary wines. Our equally exquisite dinners were enjoyed in small trattorias and one night even in the 13th century home of our hosts.
Our accommodations were in beautiful out-of-the-way villas and albergos. We had the privilege of touring ancient castles, hidden monasteries, small villages and ancient Romanesque churches, and the hikes through the Apennine Mountains and Tuscan countryside were spectacular.
But most of all, we enjoyed and appreciated the company and competence of our gracious, knowledgeable and thoroughly delightful hosts. We are already planning our next trip with our new Italian friends from Journey Through Italy, and we can’t wait to see them again.

This was my first time joining a Journey Through Italy tour and the experience was mesmerizing! It was a small group of six plus me. The rest of the group already knew each other but they were all extremely kind and welcoming. The guides were extraordinary and prepared exquisit lunches on the trails for us! I can’t wait to join them again on another adventure!

Wonderful trip. Lorenzo and Lisa have continued Mario's legacy of fun and informative hikes in style and grace. We cherish our memories of the many trips we had with them.

A wonderful adventure from start to finish, our trip included gorgeous hikes through Casentino, with lunches prepared by chef/sommelier Francesca--a young force unto herself, and guided primarily by Luca, who has an amazing knowledge about nature. We stayed in picturesque villages and on a luxurious estate hotel. Mario, the business's family patriarch, exudes joy of living and has marvelous stories about Italy and his personal experiences. We laughed a lot! And do yourself a favor, and arrange a half-day tour of Florence with Lisa (artist and art historian)--you'll discover so much about art, and about Florence and its fascinating history. We went with two other couples, and will be going back with a different itinerary with a group of 12. Can't wait!!!

Mario and his team plan and execute amazing tours. We just returned from Chianti, but had previously been in Puglia. Excellent hotels, incredible dinners, beautiful lunches and well-planned hikes. The team of guides is also incredibly flexible, adjusting to weather conditions and the abilities and preferences of the hikers. Highly recommend.

Planning a 2 week trip to Italy, in March.
Beginning and ending in Milan.
Milan- Rome -Florence-Venice .
Any advice on sequence on train travel
