At the last minute, we had the opportunity to spend a very pleasant evening at the home of our host Cecilia. Not only did she demonstrate the way to easily prepare tagliatelle (I've always been hesitant to make pasta myself) but she let us have a go at it, too, showing us some of the "tricks" only an experienced pasta maker would know. Making the evening all the more pleasant, Cecilia is also a wonderful conversationalist. The table was immaculate covered with a beautiful Florentine tablecloth, hand embroidered by her grandmother! And the view of the Duomo in the distance from her dining room was breathtaking. Tagliatelle and a creamy truffle sauce! Everything was excellent. Afterward, Cecilia even sent me the recipe for her homemade Biscotti di Prato. I sent her a couple of photos of our evening with her, but I promised her that the next photos I send will be of me making tagliatelle myself at home. A wonderful experience!

We had the best cooking experience in Max's beautiful home!! We felt like guests not just like tourists. Max is so knowledgeable and kind we learned much more than just how to cook. I would 100% opting for a Cesarine cooking experience!

We enjoyed mixing with Simonetta's family along with the family favorite foods. There were just two of us guests with the seven family members. We were welcomed warmly and had great conversation about food and life.

My husband and I had an amazing personal experience at our private pasta making class with our local Cesarina and host, Cecilia's home; just a short drive outside the heart of Florence. Cecilia welcomed us into her beautiful home, with stunning views of the Duomo overlooking the mountains and trees. Cecilia prepared all of the ingredients we'd need and taught us her Grandmother's pasta recipe from scratch. We completed together ricotta and spinach stuffed raviolis with a sage butter sauce and tagliatelle with both a tomato sauce made from scratch and carbonara. As we were cooking, she served us some fresh bruschetta with olive oil from her family's grove right outside the window and after we were all done, we sat down at her dining room table to enjoy the fruits of our labor over a local bottle of red wine.
Don't be fooled by the "cooking experiences" hosted at stainless steel cooking schools, and go for a truly local experience with a kind and generous host who calls Florence her home.

Massimiliano, the home owner and chef was very friendly and kind in exposing us the history and how to cook what we ate... and what's more was that everything we ate was super!

When our family gets together, at some point everyone ends up in the kitchen. This is what cooking with Antonietta feels like - family. We had a fabulous time interacting and learning her family's cooking secrets. Since it was just my sister and I, Cesarine graciously agreed to customize the time to focus on bruschetta and several sauces. Antonietta, her husband and our wonderful translator truly made this an experience to remember. We had hands on experience and felt very comfortable in asking questions. Ingredients, produce selections, alternative options, preparation and cooking options - all were discussed to the detail we needed/wanted. Tasting and touching as we progressed was encouraged. They opened their kitchen and home to us and we left feeling like family. We also had a quick tour of the garden, chickens and met the dog and horse. Simply a superb experience. in fact as our family gathers for the Christmas holidays, we will be serving the foods we learned to cook from Antonietta.
