We booked the VIP SuperTuscan Wine Tour that included two wineries, plus lunch. We toured with an Italian sommelier, Serena, who was extremely knowledgeable, and such a pleasure to spend the day with. We had 4 people in our party, and we had the wineries to ourselves. It was beautiful, we learned so much about Chianti's, and we had delicious... More

The views are amazing. Lots of human traffic, but it's worth it. Buy a drink at a place on the south shore and pass the time.

Even it was raining, we had a great time in Florence. The Duomo is must see, climbing all the way to the top. I really regret not having time to visit, the Uffizi Gallery.

Purchased 2 tours, the Vespa Tour and Inferno Dan Brown's tour. On the Inferno tour the tour guide was very friendly, BUT, she did not mention about the possibility we had with the ticket entrance that was included in the tour, which give you access to book a tour to the Santa Maria del Fiore Doumo by going to the... Jackie and I met the instructor/chef and other class members at the Florencetown site. Ilda walked us through the Central Market of Florence, giving us background of important foods of the region, including Extra Virgin Olive Oil, tripe, and Parmigiano Reggiano. From the market we walked to the cooking school, where we learned to make Bolognese, tomato sauce, Tagliatelle, Ravioli... More

I booked a joint tour of the Uffizi Gallery and the Vasari Corridor. When I arrived for the tour we were informed that the Vasari Corridor had been closed for visitors, but they would provide a more extensive tour of the Uffizi (two floors instead of one) and refund a significant portion of the fee. That seems like a very... More

Valerio Bernini was the BEST tour guide! My husband and I went on his small group tuscany wine tour and had the best time! It is a 30 min drive in an air conditioned van to Tuscany. We went to 3 different wineries and had a delicious buffet lunch at the end. Valerio made this trip memorable and fantastic! Next... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
