Florence town has its own charm and Florence truly enjoys being one of the most charming cities of Italy. It is best when explored on foot

We took the bike tour our first day in Florence, and it was a great experience. The 2-hour tour had stops all over the historic area, where our knowledgeable guide Francesca gave us insights that we could not have read in a guidebook. Rounded off with a delicious gelato, this tour is highly recommended to get an introduction to the... More

My husband and I had a truly wonderful experience on this 5 hour tour. Daniel, our chef and guide led us through the central market and taught us lots of interesting tidbits, and then we headed to the cooking school where we all received hands-on training, cooked a delicious and very filling lunch, and enjoyed the charismatic guide who showed... My parents and I did their Vip cooking course at the villa and market tour. Even though it was raining heavily, we had the best time. We learned a lot, the food was delicious and everyone was accommodating. They made a special dish for the gluten free among the group. They even got my dad to cook, which was amazing.... More

We did not have much time in Florence, so we did the Florence the Magnificent tour. It hit all the highlights in Florence. Our tour guides Valentina and Mario were great. I learned a great deal from Mario about art during our tour of the Uffizi and Vasari Corridor tour. I wish we would have had more time and spent... More

Another suggestion from my Rick Steves guidebook- this cooking class was both fun and informative. The best part is, I am confident about making fresh pasta at home. The hands-on cooking course was fun, and gave us a chance to familiarize ourselves with authentic Italian ingredients. Also, because it was November, we had a smaller class, which really gave the... Florencetown bike tour was fun and very educational. Our guide ,Mario was like a great college professor. Really engaging and interesting. I learned a lot. The biking is flat but the cobbles are a little difficult and cars, pedestrians and bikes all share the same paths! Not unsafe but you need to pay attention.

The only way to visit the Vasari Corridor is by being part of a small guided group. We had been given glowing reports about FlorenceTown Guides and we found those reports to be spot on. Courteous, competent, not too much in a hurry which allows a visitor to truly savor what is a unique experience. Visits to the Vasari Corridor... More

We just returned from an amazing stay in Florence. Our hotel booked a small group tour through FlorenceTown where we visited the Chianti Region of Tuscany. To Matthew, our knowledgeable tour guide, I say bravo! We were transported to the gorgeous Tuscan countryside in a Mercedes van. Our tour consisted of 3 stops at 3 different wineries. There was ample... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
