There is no negative to this experience of a gallery.. though you really do need a 2nd visit to really take it all in.. The Gallery is amazing.. the overall area is one of great history and energy.

A 1550's architectural upper bridge, joining the Uffizi with other government offices, is the hallmark for this location. Appreciate the shade and admire the busts/statues of famous Firenze movers-and-shakers while waiting for entry. They are set into the niches of the portico.

The square is more like a corridor that connects Piazza della Signoria with the Uffizi Galleries. It is a nice walk to the gallery with lot of statues of great Italians located in the niches along the way. Many street performers are also here helping...More

This covered space is, in my mind, sort of a mini/free Uffizi Gallery: there are rows of beautiful statues that anyone can walk up to and appreciate. Certainly, this place is not the Uffizi Gallery by any means, but if you don’t book your tickets...More

This unique Piazzale connects the Uffizi Gallery to the river. Both directions will lead you you to many famous landmarks. It was very crowded when we were there.

If you are going to the Uffizi Gallery, you will come thru this impressive U-shaped square. The buildings surrounding it are very impressive and are the creation of Vasari. It is packed during the day with tourists in line waiting to get into the gallery,...More

This is the narrow courtyard between the two two parts of the Uffizi Gallery. And this is more than a museum inself. Loads of sculpturs of famous characters. Some real people also acting as sculptures and they do an excellent job. Nice to visit.
