this is THE place to be for an evening meal if you are on the other side of the river! the atmosphere is great, lots of people, wither is restaurants or simple sitting in groups around the square, live music here and there. the restaurants are also mostly good. I tried Trattoria Borgo Antico and the Pizza Margherita was just... More

Quiet square with lots of restaurants and bars. Located in the Ortano arena on the other side of the river. Which means: way less tourists :)

A really lovely spot on the other side of the Arno in Florence. Reminds us of the East Village. Restaurants line a small square, which is also bordered by a church. Great for sitting and relaxing, away from the craziness of tourists.

If in Florence you should make sure to experience at least one of the restaurants in this Piazza. It is a nice, quiet location for dinner that has a relaxed vibe, but with some of the best food in Florence!

Across the river from the main part of Florence, this piazza feels more relaxed, and effectively a different town. In the evening the whole place is busy with people eating and drinking in the mid ranged restaurants that ring the piazza. Not far from the Ponte Vecchio bridge, it is well with walking distance of the main city centre.

We passed through this piazza during the day whilst sight-seeing and it was a nice spot for some rest bite. We also returned one evening to dine at one the restaurants in the square which was also very good. The restaurants on the square were busier on the evening but I felt this just added to the nice vibe and... More

Just stumbled up on this "piaza" by chance in late spring. Lots of bars, reasonable prices, pretty much fueld by locals, good live music sessions

Beautiful piazza with old trees and many restaurants, lots of kids and dogs during the day. Mostly locals -- not too many tourists make it here. Late at night (after 9 p.m.) it's completely taken over by 20-somethings and foreign college kids, which is OK -- we heard some excellent music in the bars. I'm told by locals that at... More

Staying in Pitti

Neighborhood Profile
Pitti
Pitti is a neighborhood characterized by art and history. Renaissance architecture such as Pitti Palace, which houses five museums alone, introduces visitors to the green lungs of spectacular Boboli Gardens. Any visitor can wander through statues, fountains, and panoramic viewpoints. Around the garden, treasures like the Museum of Natural History of the Specola and Villa Bardini guide guests through Florence as the cradle of the Renaissance. End the day with an aperitif in Piazza della Passera or the more romantic Forte di Belvedere, which offers an amazing panoramic view of the entire city.
