In the morning, for a flea market (even there are a lot of chinese sellers), in the afternoon (starting from 6 p.m.) for a drink, in the night for everything. Lunch time and dinner in lovely places. For the art's lovers, the gorgeous Chiesa di Santo Spirito to visit enjoying her treasures... (in the morning) Santo Spirito is one of... More

I love this square because this is where I studies Italian many years ago. The market is very lively and colorful and there are always a lot of students around.

After crossing the Ponte Vecchio one evening, we wandered around trying to find a recommended restaurant. Found it , but it was closed. However, we had an enjoyable walk, and the piazza is small, park-like and is fronted by the pretty Santo Spirito church.

My husband and I stayed in an AirBnB at the plaza and found the plaza a great place to eat, people watch and just hang out. Unfortunately staying in the AirBnB was not a great idea as our room overlooked the plaza and was very loud even late into the night. What's cool about the plaza is that a lot... More

Great pizza, ate outdoors on Sunday while the farmers market was taking place. We enjoyed our meal then found some interesting things to buy at the market. I'd recommend as visit.

The Piazzo Santo Spirito is across the river and not far from the Pitti Palace. We have dined at the Osteria de Santo Spirito during both of our trips to Florence. They offer outdoor and indoor dining. The four cheese gnocchi is fabulous as is their piaaz and pasta

Expecting an outdoor antiques market, my wife and I made a point of going to Piazza Santo Spirito on the second Sunday of the month that we were in Florence. We didn’t find an antiques market, but we did find a terrific outdoor market with maybe 50 tables set up all over the Piazza on which vendors were displaying various... More

A very nice farmer's market, at least on Sundays, in a crowded piazza with restaurants all around it. A nice place to have a beer, coffee or lunch, with a lot to see.

Staying in Pitti

Neighborhood Profile
Pitti
Pitti is a neighborhood characterized by art and history. Renaissance architecture such as Pitti Palace, which houses five museums alone, introduces visitors to the green lungs of spectacular Boboli Gardens. Any visitor can wander through statues, fountains, and panoramic viewpoints. Around the garden, treasures like the Museum of Natural History of the Specola and Villa Bardini guide guests through Florence as the cradle of the Renaissance. End the day with an aperitif in Piazza della Passera or the more romantic Forte di Belvedere, which offers an amazing panoramic view of the entire city.
