Best cooking class in the region
May 2019 • Couples
As two young Australians who love food and cooking, we could not have had a better time here. We cooked four courses, tasting and learning along the way, and then sat down for an excellent four course meal (probably one of the best meals of our entire time in Italy).

We learnt so much, ate beautiful food, ever flowing wine and brilliant conversation. Could not recommend this class enough - it is completely authentic and brilliant fun. Donatella takes the time to ensure you understand the entire process, answering every question with enthusiasm. The class is very generous, only using the best and freshest ingredients (most of which are from Donatella’s amazing garden), beautiful wine and your water of choice. They will allow you to choose your favourite dishes to cook from her beautiful cook book, but will recommend what is best seasonally / fresh from her garden at the time. We would recommend this class rain, hail or shine - but it was an especially perfect way to spend a rainy afternoon and evening.

100% best cooking class in the region - Thank you Donatella and Goia for sharing your expertise and time. We will definitely be coming back!

An authentic experience!
Apr 2019 • Couples
Our close friends, my wife and I took a class with Donatella, Joy and even her daughter Lucia, it was amazing! The setting is charming and a slice of Tuscan life, the kitchen is super clean and well appointed, and the instruction was careful, articulate and simple. We were made to feel completely comfortable despite not being about to speak Italian. Donatella’s priceless knowledge, passion and focus on high quality simple ingredients made the class extremely informative and enjoyable. It was the collective highlight of our trip!

Cooking with Donnatella is a joy
Apr 2019 • Couples
We attended an all morning cooking class and lunch with Donnatella and it was wonderful. We cooked a three course meal of authentic Italian food including handmade Pici pasta and lamb. The environment was welcoming and fun. We toured her gardens after the meal.

Wonderful experience learning Donatella's cooking techniques..and a lot of fun!
Jan 2019 • Friends
3 couples were making an overnight stop in Cortona and we booked a cooking class with Chef Donatella assisted by her son Michele and niece Gioia. What an outstanding experience this evening turned out to be. We arrived at 5 pm and left around 10 pm after helping to prepare a dinner of Pappa al Pomodoro, a very thick tomato and bread based soup, a dish featuring homade pici, a lamb dish with local spices, egg and lemon and torta della nonna for dessert. The evening included a hands on experience assisting with the meal preparation while receiving so many cooking tips and tricks that it is impossible to remember them all. Michele translated for Donatella during the cooking session as none of us can fully understand conversational Italian but this presented an opportunity to recall great days earlier in our lives when our grandparents spoke their version of Italian in our homes. Despite our limitations in understanding and speaking Italian, we all had a laugh at our very bad skills shown while making the pici by hand and often times making the noodles too thin and watching a few hit the floor. Once the dinner was prepared Donatella and Michele joined us for dinner and an evening of conversation at our table in front of the fireplace. As other reviewers have noted, homemade limoncello was the night cap and ended a one of a kind experience that will be remembered for a lifetime. We stayed at an apartment in a villa owned by Michele and were treated to a wonderful homemade breakfast the next morning as well with more spectacular food. This was truly a highlight of our 9 days in Italy. Grazie from the Graziano, Krych and Pfeil families.

An outstanding experience
Nov 2018 • Couples
We both found this to be a wonderful way to understand Tuscan cuisine. Donatella and her family made the day not just informative but also fun. We helped in the preparation of what can only be described as a "banquet"; starting with Bruschetta and finishing with cake and homemade Limoncello. In between were the most delicious courses. Highly recommend.

Cooking Class at I Gustasapori and Chef Donatella
Sep 2017 • Friends
As part of our Tuscan visit our group wanted to attend a cooking school. I did some research and found I Gustasapori as an option. I corresponded with the school via email and all my questions were answered quickly. We settled on visiting with Chef Donatella and we are extremely pleased that we did. Our lesson consisted of preparing Bruschette, Pappa col Pomodoro, Pici from scratch along with the Pomodoro Ragu, Lamb Fricassee and Torta della Nonna for dessert! Donatella patiently walked us through preparation of all the dishes step by step. Her assistant, Joy, translated into English but the common love of cooking made for perfectly clear communications. Once complete we sat down to this feast served with ample quantities of Vino della Casa. I think Dontatella enjoyed our group because we then all shared homemade Limoncello as well as Vin Santo together while visiting with our hosts. As a side note, we were all also provided with all the recipes and many more in Donatella's cookbook.

Fun afternoon with Donatella
Jun 2016 • Friends
Our cooking class with Donatella and her assistants was so much fun, information and innovative. We began with making our own pasta, ravioli, main course and the best desert I have ever tasted. The best part for me was to sit with the class in a beautiful character Italian dining room, enjoy our food and drink some lovely wine with our hosts.
A wonderful experience.
Donatella also prepared a 4 course birthday meal for myself, daughter and friend, in her lovely restaurant and once again i had my favorite desert 'Granny's Cake.Thank you so much Donatella and team for a beautiful and memorable birthday.

Vegetarian Cooking Lesson
May 2016 • Friends
Offering a wonderful choice of dishes to cook Donatella can turn her hand to produce ideas on fresh local ingredients. As one of our group was vegetarian we thought we would try only making vegetarian dishes. From a number of choices offered we decided to make sformatini, bruschetta, gnocchi Gorgonzola, lasagne with vegetables in a bechamel sauce and melenzani parmigani. Starting by making the pasta from scratch, Donatella explained all the techniques and tips needed to produce a feast which we all ate with wine in a relaxed and friendly lunch.
We will return with our next visitors who re not vegetarian to try other Tuscan dishes as I am sure we can learn so much more.
