This being our first trip to Tuscany, but not out last, we were hoping to find a centrally located home base that we could travel through Tuscany and much of Italy. We rented the loft for four weeks, our longest vacation ever, and the Tenimenti d'Alessandro and grounds exceeded our expectations in every way. Upon returning home to the U.S. we have told several friends that this was one of our very best vacation experiences ever. Massimo, Jennie, Maria, Sabrina and all of the team members were extremely helpful and friendly. While there my wife experienced a minor temporary health issue and Jennie found us a doctor, set an appointment and arranged for transportation both ways and checked on us later. Our children and granddaughter were able to join us for two weeks each and they all loved the experience. The pool, gym, spa, sauna, and steam room were all great amenities. I personally scheduled three excellent massages while there. When we were not having meals at one of the neighboring towns or grilling out we visited their restaurant on several occasions and each time was superb. On evenings when we grilled or dined at the fully equipped loft we were encouraged, and did, help ourselves to fresh vegetables from the garden. As evidenced by many empty bottles, we thoroughly enjoyed the superb wine from the vineyards. We look forward to returning one day.

Impressive location worth every minute you spend there either touring the vineyard, the factory - where the magic happens, the hotel, cooking from their vegetable garden, everything is impeccable. The Villa is situated about 15 minutes from Cortona, in the Valley of Chiana, surrounded by mountains, pine trees and yes, vineyards, previously owned by a Tuscan noble family. There is an underground passage between the hotel and the Enoteca. Luigi D'Alessandro was the original Syrah producer in Cortona on an impressive property with about 10 types of red/white wine, sweet wine and grappa. I honestly cannot recommend this place more if you want something that is immersed in the Tuscan wine country, a luxury hotel, with your own wine collection and wonderful restaurant and service, oh, and there is a pool and spa and international works of art on the property that make it that much more unique. Filippo gave us a tour of the property and was absolutely fantastic walking us through the DOC Syrah making process and made the experience all the more memorable.

My husband and I spent a week in apt D 3 in early sept. it was by far the most stylish place we have ever stayed at in over 20 yrs of annual visits to this wonderful country. Margherita who helped with the booking and was so kind when we arrived was delightful. We foolishly did not book to eat in the restaurant there but it would be worth doing. Bed linen was of a high thread count/ huge fridge n freezer/ comfy beds and everything looked brand new. The state of the art gym was out of this world with showers actually in the steam room and rainforest showers of either mentor passion fruit scents. The view from the gym is out over the infinity pool and beyond to the vines and sunflowers. I looked at the villa which is to die for and I am very keen to stay there . It is more secluded with a wonderful outlook. Giancarlo the caretaker/ gardener cold not have been more helpful . We got lost getting there so be warned it is 3 to 4 km from camucia and not 3/4 as it reads on the instructions. He gave us lots of his fantastic veg ( try his huge heart shaped tomatoes ) and showed us the fig tree where we helped ourselves to loads of figs. This really is a very special place and in a way I wondered if I should share it with the world !!!! Enjoy it anyone out there who is going . It really will not disappoint. Thanks Margherita . Thanks Giancarlo. X

What a fantastic place to stay. As a family with young children, we do spend some time on the estate as too many visits to museums and the likes are not really within our kids' interest zone.
With a fully equiped fitness, a sauna, Turkish steam bath, yacuzzi and a fantastic swimming pool with a magnificent view, we have enjoyed every minute of our two weeks stay.
The staff is extremely helpfull and very friendly. The wines are excellent and once per week we had the occasion to join a great dinner in the domain's private restaurant.
We stayed in appartment 1 that has a very well equipped kitchen (Smeg gass furnace and oven, Liebherr fridge and freezer, no microwave though), a nice livingroom and 2 great bedrooms with separate bathrooms. Everything was clean, tidy and with a touch of design.
Speaking for the entire family, this was a great place to stay.

I chose this vineyard and restaurant for a lunch instead of having a more traditional rehearsal dinner. This location, service, pricing and quality of food was absolutely spectacular! I would recommend again in a heart beat and can’t wait to come back again! So lovely! Thank you again for the memories and serving a large group of 40 (including 3 children)! Fantastic!

We made reservations for a lunch and wine tasting for 7 adults and 3 children. The food was delicious and freshly prepared by the chef. Everyone enjoyed what they had ordered. Our hostess did a nice job telling us about the wines and serving the table. They were short staffed (our guess) and did not offer us a tour of the winery. We asked and were told it was open and could walk in if we liked. Also, we were unable to purchase any wines. The door was locked. We found this to be very odd and were disappointed, but knew they had many customers in the restaurant and only the one server.

We just stopped at d'Alessandro and we got a guided nice tour of the winery and the cellars tasted wines and walked on our own around the vineyard. The guide was very friendly, calm and nice. She answered all sorts of questions we had and took good time. The wine tasting was also very relaxed and positive. Visit this winery and enjoy it all. Highly recommendable.

We did not stay at this property, though we did book a cooking course through the Operations Manager, Massimo with Chef Lucca in the restaurant. The course included a tour of the property (including the wine cellar), lots of information about the wines they produce, a cooking lesson with the chef of the restaurant in the restaurant kitchen for 4 courses, and then eating the lovely courses (and 3 surprise courses!!!) with phenomenal matched wines.
It was the most fantastic experience! Massimo was our guide and our interpreter - he was charming, engaging and great to hang out with. Chef Lucca and his team in the restaurant are phenomenal, and it was excellent to learn from them. This experience was one of the highlights of our trip to Tuscany and we would recommend it to everyone. I really enjoy cooking, but my husband does not, and even he walked away singing praises. It is quite a different set up to other schools we read about - I really wanted to learn local cuisine, but I didn't want to do so in a big group or with people that are just trying cooking for the first time - this was the perfect option. The company was fantastic, the food was outstanding and the wine was flowing generously.
Even if you can't fit in a cooking course, we highly recommend calling to book a tour of the property - Massimo and his team are amazing and the property is outstanding.

We had this arranged for us- a cooking lesson and tour and tasting at the winery. We were def not disappointed. The entire location was stunning- we got to tour the grounds where the the wine is made and the apartments with spa-like facilities that are across the road. This is a small slice of paradise in wine-making country.
After that we had a cooking class led by the winery Chef. He knew his stuff and it we learned some deceptively simple techniques that we will be able to use when we go home.
The food was amazing but that only set the stage for the wine. The different wines were well crafted. In particular the 'Cru' and the rose were particularly elegant and the 'Vin Santo' was absolutely glorious. After a few rounds we played some pool it was a very sloppy game- in part b/c that pool table has very 'tight' pockets. AT ANY RATE... This was a lot of fun and we would recommend.

We visited the cantina but not the vineyards as it was raining.however the highlight was the food and we were given the choice of tasting the 4 wines before, after or with the meal.
We chose with and so sat down in the dining room of the Osteria. We a delicate amuse bouche with a white wine to taste followed by an antipasto of tartare of chianina beef, with the first of three red wines to taste . We had a mouth watering homemade ravioli and a main course of our choice. The desert was also excellent.
We then had caffe and petit fours !
Our guide was friendly and very helpful in answering questions and always smiling.
We will return just to go back to the Osteria and buy some more wine as I am sure we will out of the purchase we made.
